Miss USA Now Mentoring Beauty Queens
A disgraced former Miss USA who was nearly stripped of her title over allegations of wild partying and underage drinking is trying to relaunch her career on a new reality show.
Tara Conner wept in front of the world's media as she was forced to apologise for her bad behaviour last December.
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, had apparently been infuriated with her conduct.
But he offered a second chance after hearing how the bright lights of New York had led her astray, and she kept her tiara.
Now Conner is starring in a new MTV show that follows what happens to pageant winners when their reign ends.
It stars Miss Universe Riyo Mori from Japan, Miss USA Rachel Smith and two Miss Teen USA winners - Katie Blair and Hilary Cruz - as they share an apartment in New York for a year.
Conner, who acts as their minder and "unofficial peer advisor" in the show, allegedly once kissed Blair in public - a move reminiscent of Britney Spears' and Madonna's "lesbian" kiss at the MTV Awards.
Conner, 21, spent 28 days in rehab in Pennsylvania earlier this year after she learned she was being allowed to keep her crown.
She later confessed to struggling with alcohol since the age of 14, saying she had been "in complete denial".
Conner said her biggest fear "would be to lose my sobriety" and also admitted cocaine abuse.
Her time as Miss USA came to an end in March.
