Zimbabwe: All Set for Big Brother As Zimbabwe Candidate is Chosen

Zimbabwe's candidate to participate in the reality show, Big Brother Africa 2 2007 has been chosen but Multichoice, who speak on behalf of producers Endemol, remain tight-lipped.

Standardplus has it on good authority that 10 candidates, including a television presenter and a former talent show participant on the highly rated A-Academy talent scout show, were among the last 10.

Zimbabwe: What Chances Does Bertha Have?

IF intelligence and upholding African values makes one eligible for the US$100 000 Big Brother prize money, then Bertha Zakeyo, who is representing Zimbabwe, is in the running for the money.

But if stupidity and buffoonery count, then Bertha, who has won herself the title Queen of Gossip in the House, might as well forget about the windfall.

However, it seems difficult to define and describe a Big Brother winner whether it's in Africa, Britain, Australia or the United States.

Otherwise, how can one explain why Zambian contestant Cherise won Big Brother Africa in 2003 and Zimbabwean Tapuwa Mhere, who hogged the limelight for drinking too much and had a "steamy brush" with Tanzanian contestant Mwisho Mwampamba, came third and him second?

Otherwise, how can one explain why Makosi Musambasi, who took part in the Big Brother UK6 in 2005, emerged third after all the controversies she caused both in the House and worldwide?

She walked around naked, said she had a lesbian romp with a girl aged 12, flirted with a fellow housemate and had a drunken late-night romp in the swimming pool with Anthony Hutton, who went on to win the BBUK6 in 1995.

So what chances does Bertha have?

Zimbabwe: Relations Play Crucial Role in Reality Shows

RELATIONSHIPS in any Big Brother television reality show seem to be an advantage to the lovers.

The debut Big Brother Africa that saw Zimbabwean Tapuwa Mhere hooking up with the Tanzanian Mwisho vindicates this fact, especially considering that the two ended up in the top three.

Tapuwa came third while Mwisho was second.

This appears to be the case too with Makosi Musambasi, the Zimbabwean who had her way into Big Brother UK6 where she came out in the top three while the man with whom she had a late night drunken romp in the swimming pool was voted number one.

Uganda: Big Brother Surprises Fans With New Twist

THE DStv/M-Net reality show, Big Brother Africa 2 has taken a cagey twist, much to the annoyance of most fans. Whatever stunts Big Brother is pulling, no one can tell.

Uganda: It is Time to Send Bertha Back Home

Kampala
3 October 2007

ASK Tatiana why the week that preceded the Monday night nominations was hard for the Big Brother housemates. Trust her to tell you it was because of Zimbabwe's Bertha. In fact it is the reason she gave during the nominations.

This Angolan model might not have enough English words to express herself fully, owing to her Portuguese descent. But believe you me, she found the words to describe last week's blend of a Bertha that the house had not seen for the previous seven weeks - that is to say, the real Bertha, not the cloak-wearing one.

Lerato Out Of Big Brother Africa

On Sunday September 30, in a show televised across Africa on DStv, South Africa’s Lerato Sengadi became the fifth housemate to be evicted from M-Net’s Big Brother Africa.

In a close decision, seven of the 12 participating countries (Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Malawi, Angola, Tanzania and Botswana) and the rest of Africa voting block evicted the 24-year-old from the 98-day reality series.

Who will leave this Sunday?

EVICTION blues are around the corner!

The Big Brother house will lose yet another occupant on Sunday night, and Kwaku’s arrogance might be the ticket that sends him packing.
