Jade Goody has spoken out in support of troubled singer Amy Winehouse.
The 26-year-old, of Big Brother fame, says Amy is misunderstood.
"Amy is a friend of mine," Jade told the Nottingham Evening Post. "And people slag her off but that's because they don't understand.
"It is a shame. But a lot of her fans have been really supportive and that's really great. I just wish her well."
Amy, a former student at Croydon's Brit School, was recently pictured in newspapers wandering the streets of London at dawn in only a bra and jeans.
And the 24-year-old has cancelled all her remaining concerts this year, saying she cannot perform while her hubby was in jail.
Mum-of-two Jade has also had her own troubles. Her dad Andrew spent four years in Wandsworth prison before he died of a heroin overdose in 2005.
"My dad was an addict, my brother was born an addict and I was addicted to slimming pills," she confessed.
