The whole world has gone all white


Guess I will have to put my summer togs away now then

Been snowing here in East Northants for a couple of hours. And when I moved the car off the concrete area on to the driveway I had to scrape 1/2 - 1 inch of snow off. It wasn't so much snow but more slushy.

Temperature 1.4C and still falling. It's going to be interesting by morning !

It's been years since the we have had snow this early.

Met-Office did forecast a colder Autumn / Winter period than of recent years though I think they said it would still be above the 1971-2000 average.

The biggest problem is the in general the UK grinds to a halt at the this sight of snow !

No snow here yet (despite your weather warning for Bath and North East Somerset, larry). However it is snowing in Birmingham, and that's where I'm due to be tomorrow!

A weather warning is now posted for Derbyshire ,Leicestershire ,and Nottinghamshire with 5CM of snow above 100M and 10 - 15CM above 300M.
Snow then returning to rain in the early hours leading to a slow thaw.

Effective from 2010 - 0300 hrs.

Still no mention of Northants or Bucks. But as we know we have snow.

It's a fascinating subject which in the main can be predicted quite well these days but there is always changes that throw out the predicts.

We're pretty much covered here! (West Mids / Staffs border).

It's been snowing since 3pm, but only started sticking about 2 hours ago. Since then, it's come down really quickly, and we've got a good 2 inches now.

I hadn't realised it had been forecast. Really unusual to see it this early on into the season...
