Hope's almost dashed again

THE dreams of a girl band were almost shattered when they found themselves unpopular with television voting audiences.

Hope, which features Phoebe Brown, a former student at Fullbrook School in New Haw, sang a Christina Aguilera song, Hurt, on The X-Factor on Saturday evening’s show.

It was to be a performance that landed Hope in the bottom two acts for the third time but earned more praise for Phoebe from the judges.

As presenter Dermot O’Leary announced that solo singer Beverley Trotman and Hope were in the final two, looks of fear were seen on their faces as the singers waited to learn who would be leaving the programme.

Simon and Sharon saved Hope, while Louis and Dannii saved Beverley so the choice was thrown back to the public vote. Primary schoolteacher Beverley was least popular and sent home.

Support Phoebe and the band on Saturday when they perform songs linked to the theme of Best of British.

Fearne's fave to win is Leon

FEARNE Cotton has revealed her favourite to win this year’s X Factor is Leon.

The presenter, who fronts ITV2’s Xtra Factor, also admitted that she once blagged it on Big Brother’s Little Brother, just so she could hang out with Dermot O’Leary.

Dreary O'Leary needs voting off

There are only two things really wrong with The X Factor - the acts and the judges. Oh, and Dermot O'Leary.

Dermot is a product of the David Brent school of "groovy" presentational skills.

"Your Saturday night starts here, people," he purred as if he thought he had wandered into an episode of CSI.

What do you think of this week’s X Factor song choices?

This week’s X Factor song choices have been revealed, and with the theme of "judges and contestants choice" there’s a real mixed bag of tracks on offer. Just take a look at this lot…

Niki Evans
Songbird
One Moment In Time

Leon Jackson
The Very Thought Of You
How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You

Rhydian Roberts
Bridge Over Troubled Water
You'll Never Walk Alone

Same Difference
Never Had a Dream Come True
Chain Reaction

We’ll have to wait until Saturday at 7.10pm to see how each act will tackle their chosen songs, so until then let’s indulge in some harmless speculation. Tell us, what do you make of this week’s songs?

So what do you think of the final three?!

Ohmigod! We can’t believe this time next week it’ll be the grand final of this year’s X Factor. Ooh, it’s exiting, isn’t it? But what do you think about the lucky three who made it through? Are you feeling pleased because your favourite’s still in there, or did you fall to the floor and throw a massive tantrum when the results were announced? What’s more, do you think this year’s winner will be more likely to do a Steve Brookstein and totally vanish off the face in the earth within a few months or follow in Leona's footsteps and take the world by storm? As always we want to know exactly what you think, so speak thine brains below... heatworld
