MARK’S FLIGHT OF FANCY

LOVE rat Marc Bannerman is preparing to head back Down Under to be with Cerys Matthews after being dumped by his girlfriend.

The 34-year-old ex-EastEnders star caused a sensation yesterday by sending Cerys, 38, a “love note” revealing he would come back for her if she wanted him to.

Later in an emotional Bush Telegraph video message, the overjoyed singer appealed for Marc to come back so they can pick up where they left off.

And now the actor has been reportedly shown the door by a furious Sarah Matravers, 32, it seems likely he will fly back in the next few days.

According to a source close to Sarah, the actress finished with Marc in an emotional phone call.

And Marc’s very public letter to Cerys seems to confirm his two-year relationship is definitely over.

In the letter – which was read out in the jungle after the celebrities won a challenge – Marc said: “Keep singing, songbird, you are doing amazing and I am rooting for you...

“There are many problems in London and I have had to go back to try and sort them out but I may well return to greet you when you come out, if that is your wish – Marc.”

And it didn’t take the former Catatonia singer long before she gave him her answer.

In an emotional video message in the Bush Telegraph, Cerys said: “I’d definitely like him to come out if he wants, ’cos he knows all the answers now.”

Marc and Cerys’ flirty bush romance has been the talk of this year’s show.

After his eviction on Wednesday, Marc came out to discover Sarah had already flown home in disgust. She said she had been humiliated on national TV.

Last night Marc landed back at Heathrow with a “face like thunder”, according to one onlooker.

As he made his way to a waiting car he said to reporters: “Come near me one more time and I’m going to knock you one.”

What will my parents say, asks flirty Cerys

I'm A Celebrity flirt Cerys Matthews is worried what her parents will think of her jungle romance, she revealed on Sunday.

The singer's on-screen relationship with ex-EastEnders star Marc Bannerman has already infuriated the actor's girlfriend – but Matthews is more worried about her mother and father.

The 38-year-old said her parents would be 'squirming' at her very public displays of affection with Bannerman.

Marsh evicted from celebrity jungle

Former England footballer Rodney Marsh has become the latest contestant to be kicked off I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

Marsh and ex-Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson were in the bottom two from the public vote, but it was the one-time Fulham player who was given the boot.

The footballer-turned-pundit did not, however, appear too distraught to be the fifth person to be thrown off the ITV reality show.

After his eviction, presenters Ant and Dec asked him if he would have preferred to stay until the end, to which he replied: "I would rather chew on a broken lightbulb."

Marsh also did not shy away from laying into former fellow contestant, PR guru Lynne Franks, saying: "I despise everything she stands for."

He added: "I think it is fair to say that she irritated me."

On the budding romance between former EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman and the Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews, the 63-year-old said they had made an instant connection.

"From the first second that they met, you could tell there was something between them," he said. "Even at the greeting party they were outside having coffee together.

"They just seemed to get on fantastically, they just connected."

Earlier in the camp, the romance was also still a hot topic of conversation following the letter from the ex-EastEnders actor to the singer, which was read out on Saturday.

Ride from hell for Atkinson

I'm A Celebrity Gemma Atkinson and J Brown have previously shied away from the challenges older contestants have been eager to take.

But they were thrust into the spotlight with a bushtucker trial on Monday – taking a trip in 'a funfair ride from hell'.

While they survived, the series is trailing in the ratings.

Terror train ride for jungle pair

Gemma Atkinson and J Brown have faced a terrifying ghost train-style ride in their latest bid to win dinner for camp on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

In a trial called Terror Train, the ex-Hollyoaks actress and former boyband member found themselves sitting in a cart which made its way through a dark tunnel. Each time it stopped they were covered in something different - from cockroaches and ants to meal worms and eel slime.

Wish Jungle Jay good luck!

FORMER 5ive star Jason Brown has made it to the last five of the jungle!

The former Wilderspool pop star is one of the stars in this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

He has already completed two bush tucker trials and has been tipped to win by some of his fellow contestants who have been voted out.
