You knew the party was for her because she outshone everyone there.
She looked nervous, however, because it was her party, like anyone would.
I know when I have held parties, I have been slightly nervous of whether people will turn up or whether it will be a good night and everyone will enjoy themselves.
You got that vibe from the night that it wasn't just a party, it was to showcase Katy and what she has done over the last year -- to really sum up that she was 'hot' at the moment.
We were told the party kicked off at about 9pm. There were a couple of people in the nightclub and we had a few drinks until Katy came in at about 11pm. I stayed from 9.30pm until about midnight.
At the beginning of the night there weren't that many there but, obviously, as the night went on, people turned up. By midnight, there were plenty there.
She looked in great form. She said hello to everybody and looked in good spirits. She wasn't in any way phased, although she looked slightly nervous when she first arrived.
I knew Katy from the social scene. I did a DJ gig a couple of weeks ago which she came along to and that's when she invited me to the party. She always struck me as being very nice.
At the beginning, I just went by 'Katy', the person that I read about in the papers -- that was the perception that I had of her.
I thought she knew how to use the press and she knew how to manipulate them for what she wanted to be. But when I met her, she was a totally different person to what I had thought.
She would always come over and she would always say hello. Even at the party, she came over and asked whether I was having a good night -- you don't normally do that at your party, people come up to you. It just summed up that she was a really nice girl.
Katy was not stupid, she wouldn't have been where she was if she was stupid. The social scene is a total publicity game. You like to think the people on the social scene are your friends -- they are friends but they are not your close friends, they are not your mates.
I am totally shocked at her death. To think she was someone who was at the top of her game and had everything going for her -- it is just a shame.
One day you are having the time of your life celebrating your birthday with family and friends and the next night you are on your death bed. It is a total shock. She was a character and she will definitely be missed.
