Yes, you know what is coming!

This evening (by total accident I may add) I managed to make a line of about 25cms or so along the wall in the hall with a blue biro pen. Unfortunately the wallpaper is light colour so it is *rather* obvious to anyone who was to be in there with daylight.

I have managed to avoid anyone seeing it so far but does anyone have any ideas for removing it?! I tried make-up remover to no avail.

This happened while I was trying to write Christmas cards... there is some form of a disaster every year with them ::lol::

Anyway, any help for this muppet would be greatly appreciated as if I can avoid mum seeing it would be GREAT!!

Goodness, Jezi, I've been doing the dreaded Christmas card task myself - am a bit confused as to how you happened to be in contact with the wallpaper..

Quote:
To remove biro ink use rubbing alcohol over the affected area to remove.

Also try generic cleaning products such as WD-40 to see if that has any joy at removing the stain from the embossed wallpaper. Good luck!

Ink Stain Removal from Wallpaper

You can remove ink from wallpaper by using either hairspray or lemon juice. Spray the area well then wipe with a clean cloth. You may need to use several applications. Remember to always test in a non-visible area first to be sure that this does not harm your wallpaper.

Quote:
babies steriliser liquid. (from Yahoo answers)

the bleach should take the biro out.
use a cotton bud & dab on the biro, do not scrub.

Haven't done the links thing, but these are hints from ordinary people, found via Google - and this is an emergency!

Thank you GG! Nobody has noticed yet as I realised today the line is actually quite far down. Here's hoping it stays that way until I have an empty house again so I can have a chance to look out the stuff to try and clean it. Am just very aware of the high chance that I could quite likely ruin the wallpaper... it wouldn't surprise me.

Basically I was going from my upstairs pink room to my downstairs bedroom... ran down the stairs and was in a rush to get something as I was getting annoyed with all the writing. I still had the pen in my hand and hey presto felt it against the wall and went "uh oh..." or words to that effect!!!

I would try a rubber first. You never know it might work and be a lot less hassle

Thanks HD. Just given that a go but there's a mirror just above it on the wall which was rattling and the brother was like "what are you doing?" so I never got a chance to see if it worked. He ruins everything.

No luck yet unfortunately rebs but people have always been in while I've been in this week so not had much opportunity. On the plus side nobody has noticed yet which is a definite bonus!!

Ermmm its probably not a good idea to keep repeating that on a medium with a global reach numbering billions of readers? While the chances of parent googling "Jezi + Wallpaper disaster" are slim, you just never know ;)

Anyway, do be careful if you use any chemicals to remove the stain. Some are likely to make matters worse... either by fixing the stain, spreading it or worse, disolving the wallpaper. Gosh, this could make to a great comedy sketch; leading perhaps to parent arriving home and discovering a hole in the ground where the house used to be?

I do hope you manage to sort out the problem... if not, frame the brother (I'm sure you could bribe a graphologist to say its his handwriting) ;)

Hahaha good point

(although we've been away a week) it must not be as noticeable as a feared so I'm just going to keep it buttoned. though a few days after it happened I had some friends round and I told them about it... on their way out they were looking at all the walls trying to find it which didn't take long so I was like BE QUIET PLEASE!!!!

I think I'll maybe avoid chemicals because you're right, it likely would end up in dissolving the wallpaper with my luck.

Long time no "see" by the way, hope you're well.

I have an idea. Why not colour in the rest of the wall with the biro? that way they'll never see the mark.

:D

Rudely so (as in health)... ;)

I've been gainfully catching up with all that stuff I neglected to do during BB8... like work, paying bills, washing the car and being mildly attentive to 'the other half'

Anyway, looks like we have a plan... more biro applied as suggested by BBoop. Just make sure you use one of your brother's ;)
