The book sounds interesting though larry..?

I got an itunes voucher from my friend so have been working out how to download/install/do all that stuff for about an hour...(started watching To The Manor Born but it was RUBBISH!)

Hope everyone's had a good day. :)

Does he get to Glasgow a day late?? :)

Also, this might sound like a thick question, but if you download something from itunes, can you use it on any mp3 player. I haven't got an ipod either...got a little Creative Zen one?

Depends on the level of the DRM license. But at the very least you'll need to copy the license onto the mp3 player assuming that it is DRM compatible as some aren't. Actually just thinking are itunes mp3 or wma hence the licensing ? Never used itunes .

But if you don't have a recent copy of Windows Media Player 11 there is a little program which as long as you have at least one DRM license will remove the restrictions.

Yes the book was interesting for a little over an hour while I was looking at the changes which include the format but when you have some many versions on it the novelty doesn't last as long as if it's your first copy.

I didn't get *interesting* presents as such, but I liked everything I was given, so I'm a happy bunny. I got clothes, a lot of fantastic jewellery, and espresso cups with handbag designs on them.

I got a sheep in Africa, which has pleased me more than anything I've ever received. :)

Oh - and I got Russell Brand's book (twice!), which I'm delighted with. I considered buying it myself, but being mean, thought 'I'll wait 'till it arrives in our library'. Wasn't entirely sure it'd be a wise purchase. However, daughter and husband both decided to buy it for me (yes, I guess you could say we need to work on communication in our household!) - and considering that I'm bowled over before I even begin Chapter 1, I'm thrilled they did.

Before the contents, there's a page with the following two quotations:

Quote:
The line between good and evil runs not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but through every human heart'

- Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Achipelago

Quote:
'Mary: Tell me, Edmund: Do you have someone special in your life?
Edmund: Well, yes, as a matter of fact, I do.
Mary: Who?
Edmund: Me
Mary: No, I mean someone you love, cherish and want to keep safe from all the horror and the hurt.
Edmund: Erm....Still me, really'

- Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, Blackadder Goes Forth

You could say I'm impressed. ()^

Well I got a load of cookery books (I'm a terrible cook but I'm trying to learn to be better).

A spice rack, and lots of jewellery. The jewellery is beautiful but I can't help feeling that it's a bit wasted on me because with a baby to look after, wearing jewellery is a bit impractical. He pulls at earrings and pendants and breaks them and rings would catch against his skin when I'm washing him, changing his nappy, feeding him, playing with him etc.

I did get a beautiful dress but it was 2 sizes too small! :(

I got Russell Brand's book too and I'm trying to put off reading it because I've looked forward to getting it for so long (nearly bought it myself a few times when doing the weekly shop but resisted as I knew I was getting it for Christmas) and soon as I start reading it I won't be able to stop and then it will all be over. I won't have it to look forward to anymore. I know it's crazy!! I also got his latest DVD which I haven't watched yet but that's mainly because I want to watch it with my other half who is out working alot and by the time he gets home it's quite late and I don't want to risk being sleepy during.

Sounds like you all got nice things :)

I got a laptop as a Christmas/birthday combination present, lucky or what?!

Got bits and pieces from family/friends as well like clothes, a black bag with sparkly pinkness on it, books, a CD, a DVD, panto ticket.... that kinda thing! Was very lucky indeed.

I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did, TD I felt as if I'd been with them in the hospital!
