Kerry: "Trouble follows me everywhere"
Kerry Katona is being interviewed on This Morning as we write this – and she looks knackered. So far she's said that her headline-grabbing New Year's Eve fight with her mother in law wasn't her fault, and it's just that trouble follows her everywhere. "I swear on my unborn child's life that she hit me," she says. She's also denied the woman in question's tabloid claims that she's taken cocaine recently and insists she's been clean for three years. "Everyone who sells a story on me will mention cocaine because they know it sells," she says. Kerry's also brought along a male pal of hers who she met in The Priory, where she says she still goes every week for chats with a psychiatrist...
Kerry: "I'm not on drugs and I am a good mother"
Kerry Katona's This Morning interview was just as revealing as we'd hoped. When asked about how she got into drugs, she said that "everyone around her" was doing them, and revealed that she did used to take cocaine with her mum, as has been reported in the press. "I had nobody to say that I had a problem because I was doing cocaine with my own mother," she said. "Then I went on a binge in London with my mum and a friend and started thinking about my children at home and that's when I decided to check into The Priory." Kerry says the only chemicals in her body these days are her bipolar medication – but when Phillip Schofield pointed out that she'd lied about drugs before, she said "It's not something you're going to admit to doing. Do I look like I'm on drugs?" Kerry's nerves did seem a touch frazzled during the chat – but perhaps that's hardly surprising when her life is the kind of rollercoaster that Alton Towers would shut down for safety reasons.
Kerry also said that husband Mark is "a great help" when it comes to keeping her addictions at bay, and said that moving out of Warrington has also helped solve her problems. "Before that I was buying cocaine for everyone and felt so confident," she reveals. "I had 30 photographers outside my house when I split up with Brian, and thought I was coping fine with it by doing a few lines with my mum." Kerry finished the interview by insisting "I'm not on drugs and I am a good mother."
