Mission: Unloveable
Celebrities attending the exclusive launch of the Embassy Club in Abu Dhabi were surprised to see an unexpected figure circling the room like a gossip shark, piggy little ears rotating like Jodrell Bank to hear snatches of conversation.
It was none other than cash- and dignity-strapped ex-celebrity Jade Goody, now more likely to live in a barn than buy a converted one. How did the semi-literate hamface manage to wangle an invitation for a do such as this?
It was arranged by a national newspaper, who were paying Jade to wander around eavesdropping on people making calls and lurk at the edge of groups to glean gossip and report any high-jinks and misbehaviour by those present.
Unfortunately for Jade, word soon got round about her antics (well, she's hardly James Bond, is she?), resulting in every single person at the party ignoring her and shutting up the minute she appeared in their peripherals.
Most amused were actors Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan, who shouted, "Here comes the newspaper nark" every time Jade's furrowed fat brow appeared nearby.
