Er, no-one from BB does - haven't you noticed??

Jade got by on hype - designed to fool a few hundred thousand fools who buy the celebrity mags.

Kate made her choice after refusing the tabloid deal after BB - she was going to try & get a career - we'll see.

But what are the Rajar figures? - what exactly do they mean?? & what has this to do with Kate being the very junior partner to Tim Shaw's ego after only 4 months?
I know this regional radio malarky is very cut-throat but what can Kate actually do?? - Tim Shaw does all the time-checks & names the tracks.

I don't really know any of the answers to those questions, PiL. I know Kelvin Mackenzie thinks Rajar figures are a load of twaddle.

I'm just saying the fact that Kerrang has lost viewers and they're the flagship show, which doesn't augur well, especially as it's part of the big revamp, which was meant to gain. As you say commercial radio takes no prisoners, and is all about ratings.

It'll be hard for any big company to employ her, when her career hasn't exactly been stellar. I think we were right in suggesting she should of tried to exploit the credibility she's gained in dance music towards her radio career. A Rock station was always an odd fit ${

Maybe she can still do this.

I would say Alison and Brian have the broadest appeal of any BB stars in broadcasting. It's fairly paltry for most others though, tbh.

Really not interested in talking about Jade, don't see how it's apposite {@}

Rince - keep the faith!

As for Kerrang, we'll see.

Broadcasting is the be-all & end-all when 'success' is looked at - that's true - being a BB celebrity moron means jack-sh!t.

Don't underestimate Kate - she might surprise.

Totally agree with you about Brian & Alison - they are absolutely wonderful.

Will a big company employ Kate? - seeing as she's always considered a relatively high profile & successful housemate in the media who doesn't resort(too often) to BB 'image' promotion - probably yes.

And don't forget that the likes of Davina McCall, Dermot O'Leary, Fearne Cotton, Vernon Kay, etc., have had many media engagements which would/could be considered 'flops'. Format is what matters, not 'celebrity' presenter in the main, ie a format which appeals to many viewers/listeners.
I think Chris Moyles is cr@p but I don't deny he's been a success on Radio 1, ie his cr@pness appeals to many people.
Celebrity Wrestling was a flop for Kate Thornton because it didn't appeal to the masses of mainstream middle-of-the-road viewers who watch television in their millions on a saturday night. X-Factor is a huge success for Dermot O'Leary because the format appeals to masses of middle-of-the-road viewers, aged 8-80.

I know Kate only appeared very late on Love Island 2, but appearing on Love Island, at all, was a definite mistake for a few reasons, mainly because it ruled Kate out of Strictly Come Dancing for years to come, a show watched by millions of mainstream middle-of-the-road viewers - & she is a brilliant dancer. Mind you, thank God she never appeared with Alesha!

Kate had to stand up today on Kerrang & be brave. :D
Tim Shaw left the show before 8am for reasons of stomach trouble! - ie he had the trots! - hmmm...
True or not, he left for the show for the last two hours.
Kate had to carry the rest of the show, including the interview with Jamie Bell, movie star.

Kate did more than OK - the interview with Jamie Bell was fantastic - & Kate was brilliant throughout.

Shame, I really enjoyed this show over the last couple of months, best thing Kate's been involved with IMHO.

Totally agree on that - I think it was very important that Kate took this opportunity to work in Birmingham for Kerrang - no matter what happens.
Last week Tim Shaw took the mickey a little out of Tim Lovejoy who is part of the elite presenters promoted at this time - but Lovejoy was sooo precious & stormed off.
Now, Kate did nothing to rile Lovejoy, but Tim Shaw might get Kate into trouble because she's sitting next to him!
Hoorah! I say, it's about time these prissy, unfunny 'stars' like Lovejoy who have no sense of humour were brought down a peg or two.
Lovejoy wouldn't even do the usual radio 'drop-in' promotion for Kerrang's The Morning After'. - Grow up.

As I said before, I don't know how long this show will last; commercial considerations will always be a matter for Kerrang, but Kerrang should realise that they are a restricted station because they are regional & the music they play will always, generally, only appeal to a niche market - ie not the people who like middle-of-the-road pop or r'n'b.
And I certainly think a breakfast radio show should be given six months before real & intelligent judgement - ie it has to be given a chance to grow & develop.

When Kate took the opportunity at Kerrang I did wonder about her House DJ career where she will have to be Ibiza in summer 2008 - but I was kind of glad that Kate, who has a very intelligent comic aptitude & a great sense of humour, got involved with radio show that at least tries to push the boundaries of comedy.

Its been a good show over the last few months. Was fascinating to hear KL on her own for two hours, on one hand the show was lacking a bit in energy, but the interview with Jamie Bell was much better then normal interviews of big name stars on the show.

Tim Lovejoy was a ****, tbh.

Agree about 'professional' Chelsea fan, Tim Lovejoy, but don't take Tim Shaw seriously.
How could you when Kate calls him a 'weener' every five minutes?

Can you imagine what a genius like Chris Morris would do with those 'limited' presenters who present shows like Big Brother & Soccer AM, those numbskulls who promote z-list 'celebrity'?

CBB5 indicated Everything.
We all saw the panic in the faces of McCall, O'Dreary & Russell Brand(a newly created celebrity after the Kate Moss hype) when Jade Goody's ghastly nature was revealed(as usual).
She called Shilpa a 'P...', behind Shilpa's back by the way - on tape forever.
Can you imagine the 'panic' in the John Noel Management office where Jade was dreadfully hyped & supported by fellow client's, Davina, Dermot & Russell Brand?

It was a bit of a fiasco right enough. Then again, I wonder if it's had a lasting effect on anybody's conscience.

Probably right, Cameron - 'showbiz' is no doubt a harsh business.

Anyway, Keith Chegwin was actually in the studio on 'The Morning After' today promoting National Chip Week!

Cheggers is a class act; he loved the atmosphere & agreed to come on the show again next week. ()^

Not that 'The Morning After' needs it, but a postscript for the week, anyway! ::lol::

Hoorah!; Love Island's miserable Jayne Middlemiss appeared this week promoting some kind of Valentine campaign/survey for Teletext, indicating couples are more likely to fall out depending on which European city they visit for a romantic break. A run-down of cities from 10 to 1 was listed detailing the likelihood of where a couple were more likely to fall out.
Apparently, ironically, Paris was top!

Now I don't know what Kate said to Tim Shaw off air - Jayne Middlemiss, a complete angel ::lol::, was very anti-Kate on Love Island:Aftersun - indeed, Jayne may have been jealous of Brendan Cole's obsession with Kate ;) ::lol::

It doesn't matter - Tim Shaw needed no encouragement from Kate!
The interview with Jayne Middlemiss was hilarious. Tim ignored her promotion for Teletext & went straight into her Page 3 past - cue uncomfortable silence from Jayne - then Tim made light of teletext & ridiculed a comment Jayne, in ridiculous promotion mode, made about 'navigating' around Munich.
That was it! Jayne stormed off!! A bit rich after after her performance on Love Island: Aftersun, but that's cowardice for you - at least Tim Shaw takes the p!ss out of you to your face.

Anyway, the 'celebrity' agency who 'supplied' Jayne Middlemiss has apparently refused to 'supply' future celebrities for promotion of this, that, & t'other to Kerrang Radio because Tim Shaw is a rude, bear-baiter!

Middlemess was pathetic, very interesting when the smelly slebs that deal it can't take it. Yet I was happy about it all-round, whats the point of these stupid ******* slebs wondering on shows to promote nonsense which they clearly have no idea about

I actually agree with Tim Shaw in his hatred of this putrid duo-promotion. If the agency stops them interviewing such dull twats over nothing-subjects, then yay {@}

I was quite glad that Kate stopped Tim from murdering samanda, on last fridays show. I didn't watch a second of the last BB debacle, but I realised those two were harmless enough.

"You're bear-baiters" how funny-it misses the point-people like Kerry Katona,Cheggers,Beaney or Lord Cadbury(!) get a lot of credit if they stand up for themselves and can handle what is usually just a normal conversation.I have no idea what Jayne's problem was-Kate never said anything and I didn't even know she had done page3-I don't think she had?!
Ok seen some now-so she did some topless before tv-very niiiice too. ;)
