Monica Seles and Priscilla Presley lead new U.S. Dancing with the Stars line-up


Tennis champion Monica Seles and Elvis Presley's ex wife Priscilla will battle it out in the ballroom in the new series of 'Dancing With The Stars'.

Monica is already known for her fancy footwork on the tennis court and should prove to be a worthy adversary for Priscilla, the widow of the rock and roll icon.

At 62, the grandmother and former star of Dallas will be the show's oldest competitor.

The pair were named among the full line-up of the 12 celebrity dancers who will be taking part in the sixth series of the US version of hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
The programme, in which six male and six female celebrities are paired with professional dancers, regularly attracts more than 20 million viewers.

Others vying for the top dancing honours on the show are "Police Academy" actor Steve Guttenberg, American Pie actress Shannon Elizabeth, young R&B singer Mario, magician Penn Jillette, and US TV hunk Cristian de la Fuente and Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin.

Last year Spice Girl Melanie Brown was beaten to the title by Brazilian racing driver Helio Castroneves.

The sixth series will start in the US March 17, and producers have upped the ante for the competing stars for the first results show.

Two contestants will be eliminated in the results show on March 25 - the first double elimination in the show's history.

Melanie Brown's success in the show will not be replicated by a Brit this year because none have been included in the list of 12 competitiors.

The vivacious singer was left devasted in November's final after coming first in the eyes of the judges but failing to convince the American public which held the casting votes.

Despite emerging as a favourite for the title and being supported by all four of her bandmates, Melanie was squuezed out after declaring the support of American viewers would mean "everything to her."

enjoyed the first 2 shows, I don't have a fave yet but have a feeling my favourite professional dancer Julianne won't last long with that guy (can't remember his name) she has as a partner this season.

Monica was just too stiff and Penn too awkward looking, I'm glad they were voted out over the others. Kristi is a fabulous dancer, I hope she's not voted out too soon like Sabrina from last season was.

Priscilla is a much better dancer than I expected her to be. Mario and Kristi are the best of the bunch.IMO

Despite my fave professional dancer Julianne Hough and her partner being voted out early on, I enjoyed watching this season of DWTS.

Not only am I delighted Kristi won, (I thought she gave a great performance every week)it also meant that I got more weeks to watch her professional partner Mark Ballas.....I think he's a brilliant dancer!

Loved the kids dancing - Jaryd and Cara were so cute and Brandon and Brittany danced as good as the older professional dancers.
