I've watched it a couple of times - the first time, maybe 5 months ago or so. The scenes showing human suffering are indeed very moving.
There are many independent reviews about this documentary available online.
The people who produced this movie are correct, about 'religion' - it is, and certainly has been, an awful, man-made business at times. Terrible things done in the name of 'religion'.
The trouble with it for me, is that when I hear the 'facts' about 'Christianity', many of which I know are incorrect, it makes me wonder if I'm correct to 'believe' what they say about 9/11. I'm more inclined to believe the 9/11 stuff, because I don't know anything much about that time, apart from what I saw on the t.v. And I can't believe the war in Iraq is 'justified'.
Ron Paul has good ideas about how the U.S. government needs changing, but the voters don't seem interested. But then, few of them know much about him - the media keeps a tight rein on what the public are told.
(Something that fans of Zeitgeist might find interesting - I like to read what this guy has to say, on MySpace -

But when it comes to the 'God-stuff', for example, while the Roman Catholic church decided to celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th, from my very basic study of the bible, I believe that Jesus was actually born around late September/early October. Therefore the 'fact' stated in the documentary, about Jesus Christ being 'born' on December 25th, is incorrect, in my opinion. There are many other references to the bible in the movie which I would find inaccurate.
It's always good to keep an open mind, and listen to what others have to say, but generally, in matters of faith, I think we tend to believe what we believe, and it's not often that people change. I have no trouble believing in evolution, for example - of course it's undeniable. But that only makes me admire the Creator of this universe only more, and I believe the same Creator has changed my life, when I chose to let Him. I can only 'go' on my own experience.
'The truth will set you free', we are told, about 10 minutes into this documentary. I concur with that.
'The truth will set you free' - John 8:32. Quoting a character 'they' say never existed.
