Kidnap girl Shannon Matthews has finally been reunited with her brother and sister after begging to see them again.
During the tearful meeting Shannon, nine, chatted and played with five-year-old Cameron and Courtney, two, for the first time in 10 weeks.
A source revealed: "Shannon beamed with joy, particularly when she got to play Bratz dolls with her little sister. They used to share a bedroom at the family home.
"Cameron and Courtney were delighted to see her. They have always been very close to Shannon and loved the time they spent with her."
The reunion two weeks ago came as it was revealed Shannon's mum Karen has written a desperate letter begging her friends to visit her at New Hall prison in Wakefield, West Yorks. Shunned Karen, 32, is awaiting trial on charges of child neglect and perverting justice in connection with Shannon's 24-day disappearance.
A close friend, who cannot be named, told The People: "Karen's having a difficult time of it in there. She's had to keep a low profile and is frightened to go out of her cell.
"She's very lonely and feels cut off from theworld - like everyone has abandoned her. She was always busy before. Now she has too much time to think.
"She is desperate to see her children and misses them most of all.
"Karen feels very down and wants someone to visit her, but the police have advised many of her friends not to in case they are called as witnesses.
"It makes it really hard for Karen because she feels totally alone."
Shannon, of Dewsbury, West Yorks, went missing on her way home from school on February 19. It sparked one of the biggest child hunts in police history at a cost of around £2million.
The girl was found at the flat of her step-uncle Michael Donovan, 39, who is awaiting trial for child abduction. He will appear in court with Karen on November 11. Shannon is said to be doing well. Karen's friend added: "We have heard from the police that Shannon is OK and has seen the little ones.
"Shannon was very mothering towards her younger brother and sister and she would have been over the moon to see them."
The friend added: "Things are getting back to normal, but feelings are still running very high towards Karen.
"People wonder why I am standing by her. But you don't turn your back on someone who has been a friend for years when they need you.
"Karen sounded desperate in her letter. She needs her friends. I will continue to support her."
