Thankfully we don't have many of these around yet. It's only the second one I've found but as they eat the native ones they aren't a sight you want to see. The last I saw of it it was doing the back-stroke in the pond !

The 2nd and 3rd ones were taken while I held a piece of slate on which it was walking.

Saw these amazing shinny Blue beetles last night. I know the they were mating but so were every one of them where every I looked.

And this one

All of them were smaller than a regular Ladybird.
I'll have to try and get some slightly sharper images looking at these but you can still see the reflectiveness of the Blue.

After a bit of research they are Aquilegia Chysantha (Yellow Queen) also known are Granny's Bonnet.

I'm sure last year we had more of these and in different colours on the top lawn.
This one is in one of the borders on the bottom lawn. There are certainly a strange looking flower.

We have most other colours of the regular Aquilegia in just about every border and they spread very easy as the seed is very fine and is carried my the wind.
They feature in every picture this time. The Pink ones are the more regular shape.

I'm told there are a couple of trays of different ones ready to be planted out.
Everything as usual with be catalogued and will probably appear here.
