Yep, Kate's respected House DJ career should be the most important thing to her, and any mainstream opportunities that come along should be treated as a bonus.
Kate is still scheduled to appear next week as Kerrang!Radio's Drivetime DJ - as kebab-van-Dan said yesterday.

Yeah, Kate's latest blog on her myspace regarding her new 'show' on Drivetime at Kerrang!Radio does seem a bit cold, but as her wry comment suggests, maybe Kate has been getting a bit tired of Tim Shaw's attitude. Maybe not.
Maybe Kate's comments are tongue-in-cheek?? Who knows??

Anyway, Kate led the 'The Morning After' brilliantly during Tim Shaw's abscence - she has also done a good job looking after Kerrang!Radio's Drivetime show.
Maybe the Kerrang!Radio bosses rate Kate highly - we'll see.

Just caught a snippet of Emma Scott's 11am to 3pm show on Kerrang!Radio today. Before Drivetime.

Apparently, things are afoot again regarding Kerrang!Radio's schedule... after the fall-out regarding Tim Shaw.

Looks like Emma is moving - how this effects Drivetime & The Morning After, I don't know.
Emma is Kerrang!Radio's genuine, authentic 'Rock' DJ - a bit like Radio 1's Jo Whiley - only less ridiculous!

Maybe she is getting Drivetime?? Who Knows??

Anyway, Kate Lawler has travelled to Sweden & Latvia this week carrying out her club DJ assignments - so her career at Kerrang!Radio has been in abeyance - after Tim Shaw's firing.

It will be interesting to hear what kebab-van-Dan says today on Drivetime.

Kate's future on Kerrang!Radio is still up in the air.

Kate was back last night for Drivetime on Kerrang!Radio - she took her nephew Alfie to EuroDisney on the May Summer Bank Holiday weekend - Kate was more excited about the visit than Alfie was!!!

Kate said she loved her cruise around the Baltics - Sweden, Finland & Estonia -she did some sunbathing & got a tan - though, apparently, the fun-seekers on board were completely mad!

Difficult to say too much about Kate's tenure on Kerrang!Radio as Drivetime DJ.
Kate started as the breakfast co-host with Tim Shaw - we know what happened.
Tim Shaw is very talented, obviously highly-intelligent, completely obsessed with The Great Lady, but obsessed with his own ego, which means he can't bear to present conventionial radio.

Kate has to look after herself - her Respected Club DJ Career should be the most important thing to her.

The likelihood is Kate will leave Kerrang!Radio before or when her contract is finished.

I think the Kerrang!Radio bosses want Kate to be considered totally innocent regarding Tim Shaw's firing - & have given her Drivetime to compensate.

It's probably temporary but up to Kate to make it her own.

Kate has always wanted to be a radio DJ - the empty, though lucrative hype of BB means nothing to her.

As ever Vilt you make intelligent comments about Kate's career path - but as you know having listened to Kate, things are, er, complicated - in a good way! - Kate is not your usual BB housemate - far from it.

The Great Lady has made her presence - something the Kerrang!Radio bosses have no doubt noted, & yes, Kate has nothing to with Tim Shaw's sacking.
We don't know what Kate's future is at Kerrang!Radio.

But... Kate made a flippant remark about Jeremy Kyle last night - the kind of remark Tim Shaw would say... Jeremy Kyle is Tim Shaw's nemisis.
Moments later, Kate read out a 'text' from some person 'perturbed' by her comment regarding Jeremy Kyle(hmm).
The person attacked Kate saying she wasn't 'loyal' to Tim Shaw.
Kate speaks as she finds like any other intelligent person.

Anyway, an irate Kate put that 'person' in his place.
Kate said she NEVER forgets 'loyal' friends, like Tim Shaw.

For aficionados of Kerrang!Radio, Kate is off to Barcelona today to House DJ - Kate won't present Kerrang!Radio's Drivetime today.

You won't get Kate pictured in a tabloid or seleb mag over the weekend or next week as a desperate celebrity wannabe pretending to be a DJ, etc.

She presented Drivetime last night on Kerrang!Radio, Birmingham, Thursday; she drives down to her native Kent, ie Maidstone for a House DJ gig, & drives back up to Birmingham to present the Kerrang!Radio's Breakfast show at 7am in the morning without any sleep!

Kate is fantastic today - she even includes an interview with Darren Lyons or whatever his name is who's made a career & fortune providing pictures of celebrity morons to the press.

Simon James & Hill, who present Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show 'The Morning After' after Tim Shaw's firing, are on holiday for a week - hence Kate presenting Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show today.

Kate's got a heavy House DJ schedule over the weekend - DJ gigs in Liverpool, Manchester, Scotland & Ibiza - before she's back presenting Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show next Tuesday for the rest of the week.

No time for 'z-list promotion' for Big Brother Winner, Kate Lawler.

Obviously Kate still knows Tim Shaw but since Kate has presented Drivetime on Kerrang!Radio, Kate has mentioned the Kerrang!Radio office many times.
Kate always takes the piss out of Johnny Doom, Kerrang!Radio's late night thrash metal guy. I think Johnny Doom has taken Kate under his wing.
He really likes Kate. Kate said last night during 'rated' that Johnny Doom had introduced her to some fantastic rock music from the 90's.

A punishing schedule-it's hard to understand how that came about-I'd say Kate had friday booked off from way back but volunteered for the Bfast show-one in the favour bank.Luckily it looks like Hayley-Amy drove and ended up doing the whole shebang and stayed over in Ibiza after Kate had to fly back on Monday.Fantastic to see Espana win the Cup in Ibiza-thrashed Germany 1-0.Why can't Inglaterra do that!

The only thing I would say is it's 'holiday' season on British radio as witnessed by the BBC who monopolise mass market listeners.
Er, Chris Moyles, more talented than Tim Shaw?? - not quite!

Yep, Kate's gig in Maidstone, Kent on Thursday - 26/06/08 - was organised before Kate was asked to present Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show in Birmingham on Friday a few hours later.
Hence, Kate drove to Kent on Thursday night, did the gig, & drove back up Birmingham in the early hours of Friday to present Kerrang!Radio's Breakfast show which started at 7am, without any sleep.
Though not sure who drove, Vilt - Kate did say she, Hayley & Amy were drinking energy drinks to keep them awake - & they 'relieved' themselves on the long road back to Birmingham!
I thought Kate said Hayley couldn't 'wait' &, er, passed water! in Kate's car!. However, Kate had said during her driving ban that she had insured friends to drive her car(s).

Obviously, Kate wouldn't have planned to do a gig 100s of miles away from Birmingham knowing she was going to present Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show a few hours later - probably more of a case of Kate thinking she was going to do the Drivetime show on that particular Friday.
However, Kerrang!Radio wanted Kate to do the breakfast show on that Friday and Kate's commitment & attitude meant she could do the gig & present the breakfast show a few hours later.

Imagine what an incredibly successful former housemate like Alison Hammond thinks about a negative person like Alexandra? It's sad.

Kate's back presenting Drivetime next monday.
Kate said today it's Endemol Joey's birthday party on saturday - good to see Endemol's Big Brother staff get the odd day off during Big Brother's run!

Well, according to Kate's Myspace she's off on her holidays from August 24th. This will no doubt take her to the end of her contract...

I'm not sure what'll happen then and I'm not going to worry it all too much, like a puppy with a rag-doll. I hope it carries on, as I prefer Kate on the radio then TV, she's much more relaxed and I like Kerrangs music, so it's very easy for me to listen to, yet we'll have to wait and see, but we should get an announcement around then, I'd of thought.

Totally agree, Rince - but we don't know exactly what Kate's future at Kerrang!Radio is yet.

Yes, the likelihood is Kate will leave at the end of her contract - especially after what happened to Tim Shaw.

The good thing is Kate has a good relationship with her boss, Gordon Davidson - & with radio being a small world where most radio controllers know each other, Gordon Davidson might put a good word in for Kate in the future. Who knows?

Kate has worked incredibly hard & has been prepared to live away from her family who she adores more than anything. She has always turned up, never had a day off sick, only been on holiday when it was booked - even Tim Shaw was amazed that Kate could carry out her club DJ career at the weekend & turn up at 7am on a Monday.

Don't know if Kate will get a new contract - we'll wait and see - but I will always remember from Kate's tenure on Kerrang!Radio how incredibly loving & close she is to all her immediate family who have came into the studio or spoken to her on the phone.
Kate is absolutely in awe of her parents.

The irony is Kate has done a her best broadcasting ever on 'Drivetime' & 'The Morning After' at Kerrang!Radio without it has to be said, Tim Shaw being there(who has been a kind of mentor).
Kate is not a natural sidekick.
Despite Tim Shaw's intelligence, he never realised that - Kate is a broadcaster.

Kate did say a few months ago on 'The Morning After' that she was going on holiday in the summer - it could be late August as she's said on her Myspace.
We'll wait & see to find out what her future at Kerrang!Radio is.
