Kate gave a 10 minute interview ahead of Jersey last weekend.It's pretty interesting for a general description of Kate's musical roots and progression.Still like rnb and always liked indierock-got into hice aged 18 in Nappa-illegal raves with Kelly-been to ibiza for 10 years-mentioned recent night peepshow and plugged CD.Worth a listen.

Nice one.
Kate's closer to positive & credible recognition in credible DJ magazine, mixmag - which would be her greatest career achievement since BB3

Still likely that Kate leaves Kerrang!Radio before or after her contract finishes - but it's quite clear, The Great Lady & most charismatic Big Brother housemate by miles has been a breath of fresh air strolling into Kerrang!Radio's Birmingham studios.

Kate has been brilliant presenting Kerrang!Radio's breakfast show, 'The Morning After' in Simon James & Hill's absence this week.

Interesting that most texters on the show, apart from the usual sexual & perverted posters from men which Kate makes great comedy out of because she can't read them out!, are from young people who view Kate as their pied-piper, telling her about their troubles.

Hey, she got a top review in DJmag, that'll do for now.

Dunno Vilt :wave:

I'm not sure whether DJmag is a weekly, monthly or an annual, I've never read it TBH :oops:

Kate mentioned she'd got a "money shot" review on her radio show, whatever that is :angel:

::lol::
Kate is a complete pisstaker & very smart.

DJ magazine is fortnightly, I think.

mixmag is very important on the House DJ scene but to get such a postive comment from DJ Magazine is brilliant for Kate.

The whole 'Big Brother' & 'celebrity DJ' tag has blighted Kate for years - despite her hard work.

Kate is a hard working House DJ - NOT :-? a 'celebrity' DJ.

And James Zabiela is more than famous - he's one of the most highly paid, respected House DJs in the world.

Tell Radio 1's automaton Scott Mills(a close friend of Davina) to take that in his pipe & smoke it.
And tell 'z-list promoted' Jade Goody who attacked Kate Lawler before her autobiography came out saying, 'Kate should have everything I've got', that Kate was after something different, ie to be treated like a peer, not a patronised numskull.

Thanks Vilt :D

A good review can't do any harm. It doesn't sound like it's worth buying, but I'll no doubt have a look when I'm in WHSmith, if they don't throw me out first. {@}

Fair play to Kate.
Although the review has nominal financial benefits for Kate, it is important for Kate's credibility on the dance scene - to move her above mere Z-list promotion.
We see various promoted 'celebrities' like, er, Peaches Geldof calling themselves 'DJs', etc. - er, Kate is a House DJ who has DJ-ed in Spain, Greece, Japan, the Baltics & more with an EP produced by a Happy Monday, ie Parky!
Fair play to Mikey from BB7 because that's what he wants to be, but it makes me laugh when other BB housemates call themselve's DJs because they get a bit of 'celebrity' promotion.

Makes me puke to be honest, especially after the travelling Kate has done home & abroad to prove herself - which has been way off the 'celeb' radar in magazines & tabloids.

Disappointed as I've said before that Kate hasn't been on the bill for Gatecrasher or Global Gathering this year, or Creamfields next month - I think she deserved it for her efforts in the last couple of years.

Anyway, hype in tabloids & seleb magazines means nothing - respect in DJ magazines means everything.
So what if the ghastly coward and proved racist, Jade Goody, has made more money than Kate, but has no viable career other than being promoted as a Z-list celebrity to morons - ie a 'seleb' perfume?? ${

Boooooo

The mags got a plastic cover, hate it when that happens :8o:

I would of bought it, but I'm very tight.

Yeah Peaches Geldof is quite agitating, clearly does nothing in her DJ sets, lets her friend do it. Then waffles about being a "creative person, and we make mistakes", hmm, only thing your creating is bullshit, luv. :puke:

Not going to judge the other sleb dj's tbh. If they've any worth they'll carry on picking up dates and getting recognition, if not (and they're not related to a Boomtown Rat) they'll fade away and find another way to make money. Yet at least it is earning money for actually "doing something", so it's better then many. Judging them on their sleb status itself is what's made Kate's job so hard, many dissing her without knowing the full facts.

Something which is somewhat too prevalent in this world, IMHO.

Doesn't matter, Rince - the fact that Kate gets a positive mention in a DJ magazine after all the work she's done is the only important thing.

The 'point' about other, & I can't even bear to say it, 'celeb DJs' picking up money & work, is Kate with a residency at Sankeys, Manchester has driven herself into the ground to achieve credibility on the dance scene.
Kate could have been a lucrative 'Celeb DJ' if she wanted to be.

But unlike other nonsense on other threads today - Kate will get coolness & credit. :D ;)

Well your quite right, which is why I like to concentrate on Kate's current career's at the minute. Not mentioning others.

BB3 was a long time ago, and I have little interest in other HMs any more, with one or two exceptions.

Their lives are no longer concurrent.

I'm just happy I've kicked the BB habit. I still haven't watched one minute of this year's one, and i'm quite proud of that :clap:

So I certainly have no idea what "nonsense" you talk of, I guess it's the same ole, same ole.

The blind bloke will probably win anyway........

::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

Not quite sure about the blind bloke, Mikey - he's embarrassingly crude at times, some of which we haven't been shown in the edit.
Don't know who's going to win BB9 - there are still a few flakey characters left.
I'm rooting for Lisa, the 40 year old glamorous mom - she's been a real trooper so far.

Rincey; you view Kate's attempts at real credibility like yours truly.
Like me, you know Kate will only get respect through her career, whether it be as a seriously considered House DJ or a radio DJ on the radio merry-go-round.
Don't know yet, but Kate may have found a friend who understands her. I'm referring to her boss Gordon Davidson(or 'g-string' as Kate calls him) at Kerrang!Radio.
Whatever happens at Kerrang!Radio, he might look out for her.
I could be wrong but I always felt that there was a battle between Gordon Davidson & Tim Shaw to influence Kate.

Love your laconic, lateral thinking about everything regarding life, BB, the media, post BB 'fame', etc.

Missed your comments on BB8/BB9 - but good luck to yourself. ()^

Hope Kate's positive comment in DJ Magazine sets up Kate to another level in the future.
