I'm not saying everybody is affected but if you loose your internet after an update then uninstall this update.

As you may have read I haven't had any Internet from my Virgin Media connection for a couple of days which I'd put down to router problems and despite what ever I tried I didn't appear to be getting anywhere.

I could connect to somebody elses wireless to get Internet but not via the router. But I hadn't associated it with the update. But this morning when I went to use the computer at work I logged on to the main profile and got a message that the computer had recently been updated and needed to be rebooted. Now I knew the Internet was working fine before I rebooted but wasn't afterwards. Then the penny dropped and I uninstalled the last update rebooted and it started working again.

Having check the Microsoft website they don't mention any problems but it has so far corrected things on 3 computers. Saying that a 4th does have internet as I updated AVG without removing the update but I might have dropped the visibilty level in the firewall as I did discover that by making the PC visible that I could access the Internet. I don't know why.

Having just checked on the 4th PC with Stealth mode set in the Firewall I have no Internet but with Medium setting making the PC visible to other I do ??? I suspect Microsoft trying to sneak something in here.

Once the current tasks have completed on the 4th PC the update is coming off this computer as well.

So be aware that this might happen and that removing Update KB951748 will put things back to how they were before. But note that Microsoft will very quickly tell you that updates are available again.

When this happens click the Icon to get the box up and select custom installation. Then uncross the box next to the update and click close. When the next message box appears select 'don't notify me again about this update'.

The 4th used Mcafee Security Center.
