Seems Kate is doing a blog for Sunday Mercury.

My tattoo, Mindless Self-Indulgence and brave battling Gran
By Kate Lawler on Jul 10, 08 02:18 PM in

Hello everyone - my very first blog!

I was really excited when I was asked to do this as I'm a massive chatterbox and enjoy writing in my diary.

This, however, will be a blog written by myself every two weeks, telling stories and tales of what I've been up to - I hope you enjoy reading it.

As I sit at my desk in the Kerrang! Radio office, I'm in a bit of pain.

This morning I visited SK:N Clinic in Harborne for laser treatment on the tattoo on my tummy.

I don't like my tattoo anymore and I'm currently having laser treatment to remove it.

Every six weeks I go to see Natalie at the clinic. It's a really lovely place, and they do all kinds of skin treatments.

Natalie is lovely, too but I must do her nut in with the amount of screaming that comes out my mouth.

It's really painful!

By next year it'll have completely disappeared, though.

In the meantime, here's some advice - DON'T GET TATTOOS!

You'll regret them in the long run.

Mindless Self Indulgence (one of my favourite bands) have just walked in to the building for some interviews! I'm star-struck.

Jimmy Urine from the band has the most outrageous hair I've ever seen! Punk rock star / electric shock is the only way I can describe it.

Amazing though...

Tonight I'm going to present an award at 'Taste of Birmingham', a gala evening where The Restaurant Awards are as well.

I rarely get dressed up so I'm looking forward to the evening - lots of lovely restaurants serving yummy dishes and delicious canapés.

I'm presenting the Restaurant of the Year Award.

Having lived in Birmingham for nine months now, I've yet to experience many restaurants so hopefully I'll be able to take note of the winners and get myself to some cool places instead of living off takeaways!

This weekend I'm DJing at The Plug in Sheffield. I've played there before - it's a really cool club. I'm looking forward to it and I'm soooooo glad I've got Friday off.

I tend to DJ both Friday and Saturday nights, which can be really tiring, so I'm going to chill out Friday night and go shopping Saturday day time...

Woo woo!

By the way, my nanny has just finished radiotherapy treatment for ovarian cancer and I just want to say how proud I am of her.

She was diagnosed with cancer last August and straight away gave up and thought it was the end of her life.

But with my family and my granddad's support, along with her own latter self-belief, she came through chemo and radiotherapy.

Her hair has all grown back and she is looking radiant and beautiful again.

Well done, nanny! If you know anyone, or you are someone in the same position, remember it is so important to stay positive and never give up.

Thanks for reading and I'll be blogging again soon.

Don't forget I present the drive time show on Kerrang! Radio Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm.

And if you want to know where I'm DJing at the weekend go to http://www.myspace.com/djkatelawler

Lots of Love

Kate

Usual 'showbiz personality' stuff in a local paper - probably the usual, temporary, 'celebrity' prose you see for months/years, etc.

Nothing Kate hasn't said on air; Kate is doing the right thing.

As I said to Vilt when Vilt was worried about Kate taking the Kerrang!Radio opportunity in Birmingham - Kate should always treat her club DJ career as her main priorty - but Kate should also treat any mainstream radio & TV jobs she is offered with intelligence, also.

Kate is quite clearly very happy about being a DJ on Kerrang!Radio. Kate knows that BB, Z-list promotion might mean more money in the tabloids, magazines, etc., but, very importantly, she also knows that TRUE RESPECT only comes from being respected as a radio 'peer'.

It's obviously been a difficult balance - Kate is a brilliant House DJ - but she has a mainstream agent telling her about other things, hence Kerrang!Radio.

Kate loves her family, but isn't parochial about her career.
She isn't a Big Brother cretin who is obsessed about selling a 'BB celebrity perfume' via the London media or being pictured entering or exiting a London 'celebrity' nightclub.
Some of the previous male BB housemates have been desperate in their attempts to be 'celebrities'. Quite tragic.

Kate is determined to be treated as a radio 'peer' - ie she isn't someone hyped-up by the media during the year's BB run, someone famous because they're a daughter of someone famous or someone who goes out with someone famous.

Kate Lawler is someone quite different.

And great news about Kate's nan, Reeny.
Hope Kate's soulmate Reeny is healthy for years to come.

Disgusting wedding guests and gorgeous boys in pants

Welcome to my second blog.

I've been a busy butterfly over the past 2 weeks!

This morning I got my hair cut and coloured - I've gone more ash blonde now and had about 2 inches cut off!

I didn't actually want that much cut off but my hair really needed it, so now I've got a bob!

Hopefully it'll grow quickly for my holiday...

I'm sat in the office of Kerrang! now, writing my blog before I start putting my show together for Drive Time.

Been busy with DJ gigs at The Plug in Sheffield, (amayonaissing!) Lush in Northern Ireland (wicked) and a hen night with 25 of us all dressed up as hideous disgusting bridesmaids and wedding guests.

The hen was in some vile white wedding dress that made her look like a Russian prostitute / Thai bride!

Check out the photo of me on the right!

I couldn't find any bridesmaid dresses so I went as a badly dressed wedding guest ...

This week I've got my own night at The Source Bar down in Maidstone happening.

The night has only recently launched and is called 'Wot Party?' The launch went really well and I'm hoping our 2nd party will be just as great, if not better!

We have Funkagenda on the bill too which is cool as he's playing at Global Gathering on Friday so it's a nice little warm-up, too!

I'm hoping that Wot Party? will end up being taken around the country to different venues.

I'm DJing at Dreamers in Puerto Banus Saturday night, then flying to Greece next week to DJ a couple of gigs - and on my return I'm flying back out to Spain to DJ again next weekend.

Tonight I'm hosting an evening of Decadent Fashion & Burlesque at The Vaults in Birmingham with Harvey Nichols.

Very exciting - I love watching fashion shows (mainly in hope of catching some gorgeous boys in their pants) and The Vaults is a really cool venue for a night out.

I've been training really hard at Fighting Fit Gym on Lionel Street, close to Kerrang Radio.

I only have about 35 days left to get my bikini body in to shape for my friend's wedding in Italy and my holiday to Ibiza!

love exercising. It releases all the stress and is really good fun - especially when you train at a gym that has a boxing ring!

Bye for now!

Love, Kate

Thanks Rince

Kate should be at Global Gathering at Stratford-upon-Avon this year - because anybody who's anybody on the dance scene will be there.
Many of the top DJs performing are DJs Kate has been on the same bill with.
So, a bit disappointed that Kate for all her efforts, good reviews on the dance scene, etc., didn't DJ at Gatecrasher or got on the bill for Global Gathering or Creamfields.
I truly believe from most of the reviews I've seen on the internet that Kate, without playing commercial dance music other 'celebrity' 'DJs' resort to, is an incredibly skilled & charismatic DJ who plays some serious tunes & engenders an atmosphere within a dance room that fellow DJs can only dream of.

The whole Big Brother tag & latent sexism within certain areas of the dance scene blight Kate as a respected House DJ; it prevents her from being considered for certain bookings kate's appearance on the dreadful Love Island 2 didn't do her any credible favours either, as I said at the time. :-? So Kate has to be very careful when considering certain z-list opportunities.
However, Kate's residency at Sankeys, Manchester, gives her total credibility

Nothing wrong with Kerrang!Radio, though. I mean, at least Kate as a DJ for Kerrang!Radio has a legitimate excuse for attending rock festivals this summer unlike other reality tv plebs who get tickets.
As it happens, Kate is far too busy working for Kerrang!Radio in Birmingham & on her club DJ career to attend any rock festivals.

Whatever happens at Kerrang!Radio regarding a new contract or whether Kate actually wants one - she has done a fine job & proved herself.

Before Kate's trip/holiday to Italy for a best friend's wedding at the end of August, it looks like Kate will be DJing in Spain & Greece over the next week so no time at Kerrang!Radio. Kate will also be DJing in Slovenia & Dubia in August. Early September also looks busy for Kate abroad as well. Mind you, Ibiza is very important to her DJ career.

Forgot to say.
Interesting that while Kate's in Birmingham she's been hired to compere award ceremonies & fashion shows.

Kate Lawler: in the gym with my brilliant Big Brother buddy

I'm writing this blog and the time is 1:17am - I should be asleep but my body clock is all over the place!

I guess I'm over-tired - the last twoweeks summed up in one word would be 'Hectic!'

My own club night 'Wot Party?' had its second party on Thursday 24th July at The Source Bar in Maidstone, and the brilliant Funkagenda played for us. He's one of my favourite DJs to watch.

Then I flew to Spain for the weekend to DJ, and see my good friends who live there.

Got back late Sunday, did Kerrang! Radio Drive Monday and Tuesday, then flew to the Greek Islands for two gigs Wednesday and Thursday night.

Flew back Friday to London, then straight back out to Spain again to DJ Friday night at Dreamers in Marbella.

Saturday and Sunday I had off, so stayed with friends in Espana and partied. Went to Nikki Beach for the first time and it was the best beach party I've ever been to.

Amazing!

Back at Kerrang now for the next two weeks, training hard at the gym for my holiday to Ibiza in September!

I took my good friend Alison Hammond (who I was in Big Brother 3 with) to train with me and my personal trainer Wayne last week.

It was really funny. She was trying to do the exercises I was doing. We were all in giggles - but she's since been to see Wayne on her own and loves working out as well!

This weekend my gig in Slovenia got cancelled, which means I've a weekend off so I'm going to spend it in the studio making a follow-up track to my first EP 'Screw You'.

I'm very excited, I love producing tunes as much as DJing out. My friends are coming up from London tonight, too, so we're going for dinner at the lovely Italian restaurant Cielo.

I'm looking forward to eating lots of yummy pasta and catching up with the girls ...

Speak soon!

Kate

xx

Yeah, nice one.
The most successful housemate in BB history away from the hype, Alison - the housemate who has actually worked on an ITV flagship show for Six years, ie This Morning, interviewing A-List movie stars.
Saw Alison's interviews with David Duchovny & Liam Neeson promoting their respective films recently.
Alison's fantastic - a real & talented Star.

Which BB3 housemates hate her?
Quite a few.
Jade Goody's comments in her book were particularly disgraceful.

Lovely that Alison & Kate are such great soulmates. ()^

It feels longer than two weeks since I last wrote my blog! So much has gone on.

I'll start with two weeks ago when I had my first weekend off in ages!

Was so nice to go back to my home in London and see my nephew Louie, who aged just one, as well as all my friends.

We went out in Hoxton for my friend Carla's birthday in Hoxton Square, where it rained all day!

A few drinks turned into a drunken escapade to my friend Sam's, where we all got naked and danced to music videos on Youtube then somehow managed to all get covered in banana!

Odd but very funny.

Her French male neighbours could see us dancing and we made friends with them. We all ended up breaking into Hoxton Square park about 3am and sat on old blankets drinking til the sun came up!

(So much for a weekend off).

Last Wednesday I flew to Dubai where I was DJing on the Thursday at the amazing Chi (Lodge) and I had the best few days.

Dubai was 38 degrees but the nightlife is cool and I met one of my favourite DJ's, Paolo Mojo - see the photo of me looking very drunk and dishevelled at his gig on the Friday.

Lovely guy.

Flew back Saturday, and I was DJing in Cardiff on Saturday night. On Sunday I did a one-off show on Kerrang! with the lovely OJ Borg.

My friend Bradley came over Sunday evening and cooked me a roast dinner (not had one since about 1986!) Yummy!

This week I've got three training sessions in the gym with my kickboxer trainer Wayne as I'm off on my holidays soon!

This morning I had my tattoo lasered again at the SK:N clinic - it's soooooo painful but it#s fading a lot now so won't be long 'til its gone!

I'm DJing at Manchester Pride this weekend then back to London to see all my family, and on Sunday I'm going away for two weeks.

But I'll tell you about my adventures in my next blog in two weeks' time.

Until then, lots of love...

Kate

If you don't want to read it, don't. Fairly simple I'd of thought, unless you just want to make a pantomime over nowt.....

Anyway for the few that may be interested a fellow blogger on the Mercury site mentioned Kate's blog:

I bet Lorne Jackson buys OK! magazine to read yet another 'exclusive' interview from Jordan where the heavily promoted 'Katie Price' says the same things she said three weeks previously. Is it only thick people who believe this cack?

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Kate has fun with her friends like normal people do.

Yet, Kate's going to DJ at Privilege, Ibiza. ()^

Boy George, the Italian wedding and my Mr Right
By Kate Lawler on Sep 11, 08 03:16 PM in

Sorry it's late folks!

Being a blonde I thought only two weeks had passed. It appears it's been three.

Apologies if you've missed me :-)

So where do I begin?

Friday August 22

My Gay Pride DJ set in Manchester was cool. I opened the event so I didn't wanna play too hard before Boy George, who I met!

What a lovely guy. Stayed sober and drove back to Birmingham at midnight.

Read on for more - and the photos to prove it!

Saturday August 23

Awake at 7am after getting home at 1:30am and packing my suitcase because I was too excited to sleep!

Italy and Ibiza not far away now.

After a morning spent in Harvey Nicholls Birmingham having a lovely relaxed shopping trip for last-minute sunglasses and shoes, I drove to London and flew to Italy for my friends Mel & Si's wedding.

Wow!!!! They married in Pisa in a beautiful historic town hall. We stayed in Siena, Tuscany, where the reception was. We spent five days in the beautiful Italian countryside relaxing and their wedding was without question the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to.

I wanna be that in love one day! :-(

Friday August 29

Twenty of us meet at London Gatwick at 5am to fly to ibiza! Excited.

My friends and I stayed in a lovely apartment in Playa Den Bossa. I was DJing the back room at Privilege on Monday September and after my set was asked to play Amnesia Terrace for Cream on the Thursday.

I nearly wet myself when Nick phoned me. There must have been 3,000 people at least.

I nearly threw up when we arrived at the club but it was amazing and a dream come true.

Ibiza was so cool, really sunny - gorgeous Spanish and Italian boys EVERYWHERE - amazing restaurants and beautiful beaches ... a really needed break.

Still never found Mr Right, though! :-(

Sunday September 7

I left all my friends to party for another week and flew home alone really late.

Monday September 8

Got four hours sleep at my home in London then drove back to Brum for Kerrang Drive. Ouch. Tiring. Tanned, though!

This weekend I have Friday off so I'm going to go for dinner at Cielo as I've never been before!

And on Saturday I'm DJing at an after hours club in Belfast.

See you in 2 weeks!

Love

Kate
