BB FANS

I've really enjoyed this series of Big Brother. But I find that it hasn't made me laugh (out loud) as much as it's predecessors.

So, on a cold, rainy day, let's cheer ourselves up by remembering the funny moments of BB9. I'll start with a few:

- the Riverdunce task: I've never seen such collective comedy unco-ordination (until last night when Glasgow Rangers got knocked out of Europe)

- the shock (and wheezing) that greeted the announcement of Bex's eviction

- Alex saying to a fidgeting Mo ("Yeah, sort your bra out Mo!"), so amusing, she even made her own cracked face smile

- Dale saying Rex was talking with his dick out, while he was lying three feet away (the dullard's embarrassment and subsequent retreat was funny)

- Mikey saying, "I'm only pretending to be blind you know! I could see perfectly well in my VT."

- Belinda on the bike, and then throwing a cup of water in her face

- Luke and his bike, especially the exchange, "What's that against my leg Luke?", "What do you think it is?", and she shot out of bed like lightning with a squeal

- Dale's Secret Squirrel act stealing the token

- Jen crying

I don't think they have been many "LOL" moments in this series of BB, though I'm speaking from a position of semi casual viewer

Bex's eviction interview amused me, despite her being a bit unpleasant

Yes, that was funny.

Luke's eviction interview was even funnier. And I couldn't stand either of them.

Luke - "They've shafted me in there! The public's shafted me! Is Bex here?"
Davina - "No."
Luke - "She's shafted me too!!!"



Most amusing. Unfortunately, it wasn't an act. He continues to behave like that.

And what's this obsession with being shafted? He's worse than Dale.

Often forgotten as it happened quite early on, but the electrocution task. Seeing HMs yelp in pain (or smirk with pleasure in the case of Mario and Lisa) as they got a jolt was very very funny, as was the reaction of Alex and Sylvia, who had criticised people for failing before then decided that they didn't want to do this, thank you very much

Dennis being ejected in his pants

Mikey failing the task where he had to recite a story very badly indeed (bisexual pythons? Spankings from all?) and the bemused 'thank you Michael' from BB at the end.

Funny in a cringeworthy way, Mario and Lisa dancing in their undies then retiring to bed where Mario dunked his custard cream into the hot juicy tea.

About time someone started this topic... I've been sowing my funnies across the Forums for days in a hinty kinda way.

Here's some of mine (in no particular order of funniness).

Mohamed and Dennis Fake Fight
After a tense making up from an earlier row, Mohamed suggests they both throw a pretend fight in the garden. The other HMs buy it and come running in panic.




Mohamed can't remove his bra
While being berated by a cross Alex about his dressing up, the mood is broken by Mo' struggling to remove his bra.




Housemates receive electric shocks
This must be the all time greatest comedy moment of any BB. The HMs getting electric shocks each time Dennis and Rachel misguide the wand around the track... even funnier when Dennis administers the shocks on purpose. Before the task begins, Alex is ironically heard to say "No need to be nervous".




Mohamed and the Chilli Task
Comedy gold as Mohamed acts up while eating hot peppers in the DR. The real funny though is not so much his performance, or that of his friends hearing his screams elsewhere in the House... but those of the sour pusses Luke, Dale and Stuart moaning in the Bedroom.




Dale gets proper spooked!
Right, what happened right... that Maysoon was telling scary stories and at the same time Bex was trying to put the willies up Dale. At one point she proper does it 'an all, like.

Dennis and Darnell swap roles
Dennis and Darnell impersonate one another in the Diary Room. Its shame Dennis got in with the wrong crowd because these two were brilliant with each other.




Darnell v Luke
A re-edited clip of Darnell nailing Luke back in the early days... but it perfectly highlights the look of horror on Luke's face as he realises his game has been rumbled. Funny because it was so prescient.




Knicker Gate
A classic piece of observational comedy that is jam packed full of gems. The look on Sylvia's face, Luke's shift from laughter to stirring mode, Dale making a swift exit, Alex milking the moment for all its worth, Mikey initially being blissfully unaware of the situation he's in and Mario seeing the silliness of the entire episode.

If you had to choose just one clip that perfectly encapsulated what BB9 was about (especially in the early weeks), this would be it.

Have just looked at the Dennis & Darnell swap roles one - never saw that before.

Dennis had potential. Pity he had to go and get all nasty.

Edit: Oh, I see you made a similar comment, John. I almost felt wary of saying anything positive about Dennis. There's almost an unwritten rule - 'if a housemate behaves really badly, thou shalt not see anything 'good' in them at all'. Like Rachel, I'm not inclined to get involved in arguments about such things.

I think that this series has been one of the funniest ever... last year there were some classic moments but in between there was little to laugh at. This one in contrast drip feeds the comedy almost uninterupted... perhaps thats why the better moments don't have such an impact?

Having said that, the humour is often understated and rarely shown on the HLs... and that's a shame because even Dale (who I'd happily spit at) is a genius 'one liner' man. Rex's sarcastic wit is a joy. Kat makes me smile just by looking at her. Lisa (and Mario's) off the planet stories are brilliant. Darnell when in happy mode is highly infectious. Mikey is a slap-stick god. And Mohamed is perfectly cast as a clown (and I mean that as a high compliment).

Even the catch-phrases this year are a class above those of last years.

I think it'd be no harm, to have something with which to compare and contrast this year's funny clips:



sorry I just had to have another look at Kemal & Roberto's Speed Date from BB6.

Rubbish... Even Hitler had his funny moments and who could forget Joe Stalin's hillarious Summer Bar-B-Q's?

I doubt Dennis will have many fans nor would many argue he should still be in the House but he could be and indeed often was very funny.

And following on from that, Rex and Dale have a chat about it which sees much backtracking from Dale as well as the poor lamb being struck down with a bout of amnesia. Amusing end to it sees that Rex was talking with his dick out after all, lucky that Dale is there to help pop it back in

I think this series has been really funny.

Several of the housemates themselves are funny in their own ways and also some of the tasks have been funny.

As well as all those mentioned above, I also liked it when Bex put make up on Dale while he slept and in the earlier days, Luke said things which made me laugh.

Kat pulling Darnell's leg about his winkie was amusing.

There was a follow-up later when everyone else went to bed, she was pulling his winkie about his leg.
