It's been a whie since the brother and sister duo have appeared on TV screens in Ireland, or anywhere else for that matter, but now they're back. The red head pair will compete in RTE's latest charity show over the next two weeks.

Celebrities that are due to compete are Brian Dowling (Big Brother 2 winner), Evelyn Cusack (RTE weather woman), Claire Tully (Page 3 model) and Jennifer Maguire (The Apprentice 2008 candidate).

I'm going to be in the audience next Saturday night - a relative applied for tickets. Am hoping the audience is completely hidden from the cameras.

Change of plan for me.

Turns out that 'being in the audience' means being one of the mob, just like at a BB eviction. Can't be doing that. So I think I'll hold out until they offer me a five figure sum to be a guest star. ::lol::

Brian appears to be doing very well on this show. Professional and funny at the same time. He's not been before the judges yet :D.

Hopefully he'll get into the final and perhaps even win! He is still the bookies favourite.

Just had the two mid week shows.

On Wednesday there was a shock when Brian came in the bottom 3  . Fortunately when he went before the Judges with the other 2 celebs the Judges said they didn't know why he was there and one even said he would do well if he went into the hotel business himself. They were very impressed with him. There were no votes for him to go and the wild card to save went quickly to him. He had not been in any danger of going in actual fact, it seems to have been a bit of voter fatigue as viewers are being asked to vote an awful lot on this show.

On last night's show Brian easily got through the voting. Another favourite on the show, Sean, was in the bottom 3 this time. The Judges lost no time in getting rid of him though. Shows how fortunate Brian had been the night before and deserving of his place after all the work he has put in.

The next vote is on Saturday's show and the final is on Sunday. Please if anybody is watching it and they feel inclined can they vote for Brian, he still needs all the votes he can get.

Details of how to vote are here:

I don't mind voting, even though I am not watching it. Do I have to wait until Saturday evening to vote?

Awww no you can vote anytime between now and about 10.00 pm on Saturday evening. The lines are only ever closed for half an hour whilst they count the votes lol.

Those of us who have been voting from the UK have been using the Northen Ireland number as stated on Brian's home page and we have been using the phone vote rather than texting because the phone vote is acknowledged but the text vote isn't. The calls costs about 60 p from a landline and my mobile charges me 80 p (O2). I'm sorry to go into mobile costs but I've just been told that some calls from mobiles here are costing as much as about £1.30. Mine on my PAYG are costing 80 p though.

Most of the cost of the call is donated to charity which in Brian's case is the Make a Wish Foundation of Ireland. A very worthy cause.

I think some clips from the show are being organised for the official website.

I have voted. It just said 'Your vote has been counted'. I thought it would have mentioned that I was voting for Brian, so I hope I was!

Yes you would have been. The votes have not been specifically acknowledged.

Brian is now in the final  .

It's still touch and go. His main opposition is a radio presenter called John Creedon. An older man, he seems to have a widespread fan base and thus he is favourite to win BUT he has hardly done anything of note on this show. His best moments video as opposed to Brian's will show it is a travesty if he wins (but then I am biased lol).

I used to wake up with John Creedon every morning, on weekdays - back in the day when in my thirties I was all sensible and stuff...before any of that silly reality t.v. business started. That bloody Big Brother thing turned my life upside down - changed my viewing/listening habits. Then the children got old enough to turn on the t.v. and the radio, and I seemed to revert to teenager-mode myself. Thank God. :x

Anyway, I can imagine that John Creedon would have a lot of people voting for him, because he's a very likeable 'comfy' person.

My evil sister-in-law (the one who has lectured me forever, about how Big Brother is a load of rubbish) has now become a big fan of Brian Dowling - she thinks he's hilariously entertaining on Failte Towers. And she's not really that evil.

I'm glad this has gone well for Brian. ()^
