That song was the greatest selling single of the Noughties...Gerbilmommy asked me to mention that.

It sold 1.8 million (Will Young, Evergreen).

Not much of a song, in truth.

I feel duty-bound to inform the forum cynics (that'd be everyone, then) that the 'ordinary viewers' will have loved tonight's show. The people who watch it to be entertained, and who like it when HMs have a good time.

These 'ordinary viewers' are a strange lot - they consistently vote as they please, and they often don't fall in line with the views expressed by forums and 'obsessives'.

They are the people who voted Brian Belo as winner, last year.
