I have watched it all now, and am here to post my reaction, when in truth, I should be in bed.
But - hold the front page! I've got something positive to say about Rex! I know, I know...I can hardly believe it myself!
The Kat/Darnell argument...I still think it was inappropriate and unnecessary for Kat to launch on her 'it's my friendship and loyalty..' speech, and I don't really blame Darnell for saying 'it's not all about you, Kat, it took more than one person to elect Mo as HOH'.
And then, when Kat and Rex were in the kitchen, and she was feeling a bit down, and then Rachel came to ask her how she was - I think Rex was correct, in that it would have been better not to talk about it. Discussing the matter would only result in Kat upsetting herself more. Not that Rachel wanted to upset her - it's a feminine trait, to want to nurture, heal, help...but sometimes it makes more sense to move on. Men can be good like that sometimes. Occasionally, it's not a good idea to wallow in emotional stuff.
While Kat's sobbing seemed a little o.t.t. to me, I'm not going to pass judgment on her for that - in the hothouse environment of the BB house, things can get way out of proportion. I think she really cares about Darnell, and is hurt that he has been unkind to her.
Next point - Rex, Mo and Darnell questioning Sara in 'the ashtray'. Now, why exactly is Rex so concerned as to how many men Sara has slept with? Rhetorical question.
But a hint - the answer has something to do with Rex's 'relationships' being based on shallowness and 'convenience'
I have a newfound respect for Sara, for not caving in, and letting them have their moment of victory, seeing her sobbing.
Possibly the most bizarre - and darkly comic - moment of this year's BB - Darnell, gelatinous drip, and pathetic excuse of a 'man', sitting there, doing an inventory of Sara's physical 'shortcomings'.
'Flash your titties'???? Em....my 7-year-old grand nephew has moved beyond that sort of speech.
And then Darnell declares Sara to be 'the biggest sl*t'. Hmm...
Well, I really disliked Sara for many weeks (while others were lauding her), because I thought she was manipulating the guys.
But using the word 'sl*t'? [Edited: I shouldn't make assumptions as to some of the reasons Darnell treats women as he does]. I hope that Darnell might in time learn that women, like all human beings, are more than one-dimensional, and he might just learn to focus less on his own self-obsession, and begin to be able to have a .....relationship ...with a woman. He might learn to grow up a little - to acquire the mental age of a 9-year old could be a worthwhile goal for him.
Sara to Darnell: 'You're f*cking up friendships'. Yes, he is, and also f*cking up his life...so no change there, then.
Rachel and Kat, taking care of Sara - that was an edifying and uplifting moment.
Sara can't wait for Darnell to get out and see that he was wrong - to see that it was actually 'all about him'. Sadly, I'm not so sure that Darnell will see that - or anything else. He's so sure of his own version of events, life, people - is he capable of seeing reality?
And now, strangely, I end on another slightly positive point about Rex. He apologised to Sara. I've no idea how sincere he was, but still, an apology was better than nothing.
