Jade Goody's cancer has spread further than expected

Jade Goody’s cancer has spread further than expected, doctors have discovered during an eight-hour operation to remove her womb.

Before the operation, when they thought it was contained in her womb, the reality TV star was given 95 per cent odds of making a full recovery.

Now the odds have dropped – but they are still said to be better than 50 per cent.

Jade Gag Ditched

BBC Scotland bosses have cut a gag about cancer sufferer Jade Goody from the new series of comedy Dear Green Place.

The sitcom, which returns for a second run next month, included a line about Goody's "kebab" - a term she used to refer to her private parts on Big Brother.

The mother of two has recently had a hysterectomy.

A BBC Scotland spokeswoman: "We wouldn't make a joke out of someone suffering from cancer."
