Carving out a credible career following a reality TV stint is a pretty difficult task.
Anyone know what last year’s Big Brother winner, Brian Belo, is up to these days? Thought not. So you’ve got to hand it to series three victor Kate Lawler. Not only is she successful at what she does, but what she does is actually pretty darn cool.

Thanks Jim :D

Good article that, wonder what is meant by:

"This has to be fitted in between gigs across the country and her radio show, although she is taking time off from that in January to take her sets to a global audience."

Break for a long while, or just a couple of weeks, like she attempted last year at that time, I think? Something to do with South America if I remember rightly. ${

From that comment, it does sound like Kate will be taking time out from Kerrang! Radio in January 2009.
To be fair to Kate, the only time she has been away from Kerrang! Radio apart from holiday is for her international DJ career - Brazil, Dubai, Spain, etc - something she agreed with her boss before she started at Kerrang! Radio.

To be fair to Kerrang! Radio, they have always accepted that Kate's DJ career is very important to her.
And it's pretty damn cool that Kate has covered the breakfast show twice when Simon James & Hill have been on holiday - the only time she didn't was when she was holiday herself.

If Kate's on Kerrang! Radio till Christmas, it looks like a contract extension has been signed.
Personally, I'm a little disappointed that Kate isn't on Strictly Come Dancing this year - the only so-called 'reality' show Kate should ever consider.

Kate did say at the start of the year that she was hoping to DJ in Australia at the end of this year - don't know if this January 2009 thing is related to that.
Kate did say in Narinda's book that she hopes to be recognised as an international dance/house DJ along with her peers, where a global audience know nothing about Big Brother - ie not z-list.

A magazine article some time ago quoted Kate as "turning down" Strictly and I'm A Celeb. This doesn't mean she just had to say yes but might mean she had been discussed by her agent Becca with the people and Kate decided not to pursue it.Celeb I can understand as Kate dislikes the creepies and slithers.Kate did two reality shows with ITV and maybe that's enough for now-especially as she doesn't really need them with her djing going so well.

The problem with that Vilt is Love Island was an awful decision - it ruined any chance for Kate to appear on Strictly Come Dancing for years to come.
Kate should have left it to fame-hungry types like Brendan Cole(ironically a dancer on SCD, I know) & Bianca Gascoigne, etc.

I said at the time that appearing on Love Island wouldn't do anything for Kate in terms of mainstream ambitions - & it didn't.
Kate appeared on Tim Shaw's Asylum show a month or so before.

As for IACGMOOH, yes, Gemma Atkinson appeared & she was with Becca Bar, but don't the producers want at least one 'glamour' model?
Kate ain't no glamour model, or 'celebrity' DJ either.
Personally, I think Kate could deal with the spiders & the like - isn't the whole point of these fake & totally safe trials the fact that the contestants pretend & moan that they are terrified?
Not sure Kate could travel in a helicopter though - she vehemently refused to travel in one during the Love Island fiasco - Love Island, a programme where Kate got her own back on Jayne Middlemiss some months ago on Kerrang! Radio.
