THE venue and date has been set for the Kildare senior footballers white collar boxing fundraising event. The event was originally supposed to take place in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge but will now be held at the Time: Bar + Venue on Saturday, 15 November.
To date senior boss Kieran McGeeney, former Ireland rugby international Trevor Brennan, Kildare minor manager and '98 stars Brian Murphy and Willie McCreery have all be confirmed. The latter two, Clane clubmates, Murphy and McCreery will indeed box each other in order to raise funds for the senior football training programme.
A host of other stars such as former Big Brother contestant Ray Shah, Today FM's Ray D'Arcy, Ruby Walsh and Paul Carberry, are rumoured to be taking part but organisers were unable to confirm the final line up at the time of going to print.
The white collar boxing event is being organised by senior footballers Anthony Rainbow and John Doyle, as well as manager Kieran McGeeney and Club Kildare Chairman Pat Mangan. It will take the format of ten bouts, which will comprise three 90 second rounds and organisers hope to secure the services of a top RTE personality as Master of Ceremonies for the night.
