A hobble as Castle is toppled

Andrew Castle has again become a casualty of Strictly Come Dancing after damaging his knee during rehearsals for the samba.

The GMTV presenter and ex-tennis player was seen hobbling into a Waterloo clinic using a crutch last night, where he had been sent for a scan by BBC bosses. Castle, who broke two toes earlier this month, is now in doubt for Saturday night's show, in which he is due to partner Ola Jordan.

A professional dancing couple from Sutton sat out the last episode of Strictly Come Dancing because of a disastrous training routine.

Darren Bennett, 32, dropped his wife Lilia Kopylova, 30, on her head while performing a cartwheel lift in rehearsals for the BBC show.

Russian-born Lilia cracked a rib and has since been recovering at the flat in the borough where the duo have lived for five years.

It is a return of the Strictly Come Dancing curse which has wrecked relationships, ignited bitter rivalries and focused attention on contestants’ private lives.
