I'm proud to say that my wife is 3 months pregnant with our second child. We found this out just other a month ago and she decided to lay down some ground rules, and prepared responses, about what I should and shouldn't do during the pre and post birth (I sort of needed reminding, I am a man after all)

1. A kick in your happy sacks may not trump being in labour for at least 6 hours.

2. Yes, they are bigger, but if you touch them then you may not get any fingers back.

3. 1 week after giving birth isn't long enough to try for another. Try it and we'll test run the happy sacks thing.

4. No, I wont cook dinner the next day

5. No, I don't normally have fat feet. But thank you for getting it wrong in the first place.

6. Call it a tent again and I'll lift it up and show you my stretch marks.

7. Don't ever call me lazy because I'm spread out on the sofa. If you carried this weight then you would as well.....Oh, you do.

Any mothers here who could add to the list? :)

Congratulations to Bluto and Mrs Bluto on their happy news.

I'm afraid I don't have anything witty to add to the list. However, I've got the pleasure of working with a girl who's 28 weeks pregnant, and am enjoying thoroughly the morning update as to how things are going - this girl doesn't hold back when it comes to sharing information. We're heavily involved in battling heartburn at the moment - thankfully the constipation phase appears to have passed - that's a relief! ::lol::

I suppose the one thing I'd say is that no man should take to heart anything his partner might say to him, in the throes of labour.

Thaks you 2..sorry it has taken me a while to respond to you both, but the real world has been keeping me pinned down...also i made a comment in another area a lot lot earlier than this that I wasn't proud of and I deleted it all by myself on the grounds that I'm no longer an argumentative person.

Right now my life is so happy I can't ever remember anyone going out of their way to make me miserable....As if they ever did.

Congratulations Bluto! @^@
I hope you know that her mother is totally exempt from those rules? ;) My mum used to start every conversation with 'well because you're an older mother...' or 'so how much do you weigh now...?' and if anyone else has spoken to me like that I'd have gone mad - but then however hard your pregnancy is - that's what your own mother went through to have you so she can just about get away with anything imo! @^@ ;)

Hi spex

I'll show my wife your message when she wakes up later (I still have to do late shifts with our croaky 2 year old)...But mothers are wonderful on the whole (unless they happen to be Rose West or Karen Matthews)....I'm a lucky man, I have a wife who has decided to give me children in her early 40's desite all th risks of down syndrome and all the rest.

I've always wanted to be a father and now I have one, and another due next year, I know what beauty and pure love is.

At last I feel complete.
