TV show teen signs £2.3m deal

Thirteen-year-old Britain's Got Talent finalist Faryl Smith has signed the most lucrative recording contract ever handed to a schoolgirl.

The Kettering singer, whose rendition of Ave Maria prompted judge Simon Cowell to describe her as "the most talented youngster I've ever heard", has signed a £2.3m deal with Universal.

"This is about the opportunity of a lifetime for me," said the teenager.
