TV3 today rubbished claims that their hit entertainment show Xpose is to bring a seventh presenter on board in the form of a male in 2009.

The rumours were first sparked when well known bookmaker Paddy Power issued a release detailing the odds on what male would be most likely to get the job.

However, the commercial station retaliated by stating that they were perfectly happy with the team they have at present, and there would be no additions in the New Year.

A representative told the Herald: "There's no truth in that at all, we definitely have no plans to bring in anyone else, least of all a male.

"I think it's pretty safe to say that Paddy Power were joking when they sent that out.

"Well, I hope so anyway, otherwise they know something we don't know," they added.

The spokesperson did say, however, that if the girls were willing to make an exception, then former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern would be the man for the job.

"Bertie hasn't done anything in a while," they said. "I think if they were going to take on a new presenter, that he'd be the perfect person.

"And, of course, if there's any other well known media personalities out there who want to come forward, then we'll have to give them an audition as well," they joked.

Ironically, Paddy Power pipped Bubble hits presenter Liam McKenna as the favourite to become the first male presenter on the celebrity gossip programme.

Earlier this week Liam hit the headlines when he claimed that pop princess Britney Spears fancies him.

The former Six star was listed at odds of 2/1 to join Lorraine and co on the 30-minute entertainment programme in 2009.

However, he faces stiff competition from some of Ireland's best up and coming TV presenters, including Alan Hughes, Brian Ormond, Ray Shah, Baz Ashmawy, Aidan Power, Louis Walsh and dastardly duo Podge and Rodge, who have all made the list.

But the gorgeous Xpose girls were unimpressed by the short-listed guys, claiming that should Bertie turn them down then it would have to be Brad Pitt.

According to Sybil Mulcahy: "I just asked the other girls about it and we're all agreed it would have to be Brad Pitt if it was going to be anyone.

"From that list, though, I guess we would probably choose Podge and Rodge.

"I think they'd add a bit of fun to the mix and it's not like they'd be too much competition since they're puppets," she laughed.

The six girls are now gearing up for a well-deserved Christmas break

The only man Xpose girls want is Bertie ... or Brad
