Read this book on hols 'Freakonomics'- Written by New York Times journalist Stephen Dubner and an eccentric yet well-respected US economist Steven Levitt.
it's a humourous book that puts economics at the heart of life, with incentives playing a central role to everyday interaction. Using some unorthodox test cases (e.g a crack-dealing drugs gang in Chicago), Freakonomics makes economics accessible to people who have no knowledge of the subject - like me :). Highly recommended!

ps their blogs are an interesting read too.

Just read "The book of lost things" by John Connolly.
It a sort of cross between The lion the witch and the wardrobe and The wizard of Oz but darker.

I'm reading ''The Hour I First Believed'' by Wally Lamb. It's pretty big so it make take me a while to finish. I spotted it at the airport and used my Christmas book tokens to get it. I love books @^@

Currently reading 'New moon' the second in the series which started with 'Twilight'.
Twilight was rescently releasted on DVD and tells the story of the romance that developes between Bella and Edward ,the boy who's hiding a dark secret: he's a vampire. Twilight adds a dangerous twist to the classic story of star-crossed lovers.

'New moon' continues the story. I'm ony 46 pages into the 600 page book so it may take a while. Once completed I have part 3 'Eclipse' and part 4 'Breaking dawn'. Each book bigger that the last so It'll take like for every to read them all.

The film version of 'New Moon' should be in the cinemas in November 2009.

Having now completed 'New Moon' and being half way through 'Eclipse' I can tell you that it's very addictive reading. You always want to know what's happening or going to happen next. As soon as I finished 'New Moon' to reached to the shelf where the next two volumes stood and quickly swapped the book for the next one.
