That is excellent news - congratulations rtvf.

Today I discovered you probably shouldn't put most varieties of tights in the washing machine ::lol:: I now have a pair that stretch longer than my head to my toes. . .!

Hi, I am having a good time thank you! It is a bit funny, has felt like a holiday til today and it is getting a bit serious now but I think it is still going to be fun.

Today I gave up trying to clear the top of the drive behind the car as it's now solid Ice !
I managed to shift quite a lot of 1 inch thick sections but some of it is too well stuck.
The other thing is that the snow I drove onto last night is now ice under the car and going by the steepness of the drive I've not sure I could get out even if I wanted to !

Temperature is now above freezing (was -4.5C) and there is a melt under way but there's a very hard frost forecast for tonight and more snow so I guess the only way I'll be going anywhere in the next day or so will be on foot.

Last night I finally got the new computer set-up and in place of my old 1GHz Athlon which has done 11 years almost non-stop service.
The new one (eBay) is basically an Intel server running 2x 3.6GHz HT Xeons with 3GB RAM with XP Pro. Who every had assembled it had fitted a cheapo 500W power supply which died after a couple of days. I now has a quality 850W replacement along with extra cooling for the case.
So it's now doing 24/7 Email / Weather station and SETI.

And today I had to pay Microsoft £95 to get a valid License key as XP Pro wouldn't except any of the known valid keys I had to hand. The one on the server reported as invalid when I first started the installation but it excepted a widely used education derived key but this was later rejected during updates. Strange as it said it was for the wrong region ? Despite only being about 30 miles for the original source.
Could have done without spending the money but it had to be done.
