RACHEL’S WHAT DOCTOR ORDERED

DANCE-FLOOR joy was Strictly for sexy Rachel Stevens as she gave her telly rival Tom Chambers a pasting!

She trounced Strictly Come Dancing champ Tom in the first show of the British tour.

And now she’s planning revenge raid No 2…

Rachel revealed that she has high hopes of beating actor Tom to a part in their favourite programme, Doctor Who.

Her fans might hear if she is the new Time Lord’s assistant by the tour’s end.

Meanwhile, at the first show in Newcastle on Friday, Rachel and partner Vincent Simone topped the leader board with 79 points while Tom could only manage fifth place with 68.

Then Rachel pipped local lass Jill Halfpenny – winner of the BBC’s second Strictly series – in the audience vote.

Toasting her win, Rachel, 30, crowed: “It was great to beat Tom!”

He was gracious in defeat, admitting: “Rachel was brilliant.”

But Tom – who would have loved to be the new Doctor Who – might not be so pleased if Rachel lands a role in that series.

She said: “I got down to the last two when Billie Piper got it so I hope this time it’s for me.”

Strictly Come Dancing Tour hit by sickness bug

The 45-date tour kicked off just a week ago - but many of the stars are already crying off sick.

In Manchester at the weekend most of the routines had to be re-arranged at the last minute as at least four dancers pulled out.

They are thought to have the winter vomiting bug, which can lay people low for up to a week.

Strictly Come Dancing's Fake Tan Trouble

Fake tan is a great invention, when applied properly it can do wonders making you look healthy, glowing and even slimmer but it is causing quite a problem on the Strictly Come Dancing tour starring Tom Chambers, Rachel Stevens and Gethin Jones.

Hotel owners are getting increasingly annoyed by the face and body shaped stains left on sheets from dancers fake tan and pan sticks.

Heatworld reports that three hotels on the tour route have had to splash out thousands of pounds in dry cleaning bills to get rid of the orange stains.

A source says, "The make-up department spray it on liberally and on a daily basis, but unfortunately it has a tendency to run at night. Because they use such heavy duty stage make-up and tanning products, it has been ruining the bed linen and towels."
