FX To Launch HD Channel
Fox-owned entertainment channel FX is to launch a dedicated HD service later this month.
The channel, which shows a variety of dramas such as The Wire, Generation Kill and Sleeper Cell, will launch the service at 22:00 with the exclusive premiere of the third series of Dexter.
The channel has acquired the HD rights to most of the shows it already screens including Brotherhood, E-Ring and Nip Tuck, as well as NCIS, True Blood and The Listener.
Jason Thorp, managing director Fox International Channels, UK said: "Our forte is running the high end US drama first. We can now guarantee that every minute of that premium content will also be available in high definition."
More Ugly Betty
American TV comedy Ugly Betty will be returning for a fourth season, it has been reported.
ABC, the US network which makes the show starring America Ferrera, Vanessa Williams and Ashley Jensen, has given the go ahead for the 2009-2010 season.
There had been some speculation that the show was in danger of cancellation due to lower ratings this year.
Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Lost have also been recommissioned by the network.
