The Apprentice Final
BBC1, Sunday 07 June 9:00pm - 10:00pm
12/12As Sir Alan Sugar is fond of reminding his candidates, "First prize: you get to work for me... Second prize: don't exist." Which is a cruel blow when the finalists are as top-notch as they are this year: Sugar needs the judgement of Solomon to make "the most difficult decision I've ever made in this boardroom". But before that we have the final task to enjoy, inventing a new brand of chocolates. And before that we have that revealing scene where our finalists get to pick their own teams, as fired candidates stand around like kids in a playground trying not to be picked last for rounders. As they help on the task, it's soon clear they haven't changed their spots. Only one-track-minded Ben, the Northern Irishman who looks like Dustin Hoffman, could seriously suggest naming a box of chocolates after a sex act. And Phil's still harping on about Pantsman, for heaven's sake. The chance to play choreographer for the day ("And five, six, seven, eight...") is the only thing that can shut him up. It makes for an enjoyable end to another terrific series. Sir Alan will see you now.
