FANS' VICTORY AS BIG BRO TO GO LIVE AGAINdailystar Wonder why I can't find a mention of 'The TV Show' in the listings for Thursday July 2nd? Is it on some obscure channel like the BBC? It's certainly not in C4's range.
No, it's because it does not start until Saturday 4th at 4pm, on 4. Half an hour with Krishnan Guru-Murthy "in front of an audience of avid TV viewers" - AH, maybe it's being recorded on Thursday...?
Note how C4 twist the figures to suit their argument, only so many watched between midnight and 3am - was that the live stream via red button, the E4 coverage or both combined?
They also say that the number of people complaining would not account for the drop in viewing figures. A lot of comments have been made via the C4 website, by people adding their voice when they comment on the various stories that eventually get published on their time delayed site.
Their moderators are quick to delete any such activity, and I bet none of that gets mentioned to their superiors. People think they've added their voice, but the website mods take the BB attitude too far by killing any free speech.
What they fail to see is that they have killed interest in the show by their actions. Look how many people are saying they can't be bothered this year, it is so difficult to get into when you've only got the heavily biased highlight shows and a few clips to go by.
I struggle along watching the overnight feed, and then have to wade through the newspaper stories and C4 delayed stuff, which take me back a day, or more. It annoys me that some of the media are so far behind in the stories they put out as I find it tedious discovering yet another headline story that is more than 48 hours out of date!
But, they are getting their info from the C4 people, and they can only publish their paper daily, which is how this information drag happens.
So, I spend the day going over very old news, picking out some that may be worth linking to on here, and the rest of my time throwing darts at the C4 logo, stuck to my dartboard.
They have lost the fans this year, and there's no getting them back that easily. Yes, viewing figures have slumped because people like me are not bothered if they miss the highlights show, it's all old news anyway. There may be a little bit here and there that's worth watching, on 4OD to stop me nodding off watching the whole thing.
BBLB is dead for me too, I can't stand the way George Lamb tries to be funny with every link, so I just don't bother now. BBBM is something I've glanced at but mainly avoided since it started, again due to the bias they have on making certain housemates out to be baddies yet not mentioning 'incidents' involving their chosen ones.
It is no longer 'Big Brother' in the way we, the viewers, knew it. The HM's may be working to a script for all we know, producing a plastic version of a show, so everyone gets paid under the contract.
I thin k they will find it very difficult to win people back again. They've broken the spell that was BB, where viewers were hooked and would watch at every opportunity. Quite a few, including myself, have discovered that there is something else going on during the summer months...
