Blast from the Past

After a quiet morning in the House, being summoned to gather by Big Brother is a huge event for the housemates who eagerly assembled while Charlie went off to the Diary Room to find out what was going on.

When he returned, he tried to lie. "This week's evictions – everyone's up. I promise you," he revealed, but the grin on his face led Dogface to suspect foul play.

"You're lying," she laughed.

"Nah, it's the Shopping Task," said Charlie before opening the envelope in his hand. And suddenly a huge smile spread across his face…

"Housemates, this week Big Brother celebrates its 10th birthday. To celebrate this momentous occasion, housemates will take part in classic Tasks from each of the nine previous series'. Over the next few days, housemates will take part in nine challenges from each of the nine series'. This is great," he said excitedly.

"If housemates successfully pass seven or more of the challenges," Charlie continued, "Housemates will receive a luxury shopping budget of £5 per head per day."

Howls of joy were all that could be heard before egos locked into a battle of who would do the challenge from each year. And eventually after much arguing, Halfwit volunteered himself for the Task from Series One – the Assault Course. But how will he fare against former housemate, recent interactive team editor and all-round chunk of ruggedness Craig Phillips?

It could be close…

Craig and Halfwit: The Face Off

Image

Quote:
Like a children's party where all the kids are ripped to the gills on orange squash and chocolate cake, the housemates were shrieking and cheering as soon as the assault course was revealed. And within seconds, Halfwit was summoned to the Garden to take part in his part of the Shopping Task.

And as he waited patiently for the mystery housemate to arrive, Big Brother boomed out "would Craig enter the Garden."

And to the ecstatic squealing of the other housemates, BB1 winner Craig Phillips emerged.

"You and I have something in common," Craig laughed as he shook Halfwit by the hand, "we've both been nominated the most."

Then Craig began looking around at the Assault Course. "I don't know who made that," said Craig, pointing at the seesaw, "I didn't."

"We had real grass in our House and we had to grow our own vegetables," he added.

Craig was quite keen to know who Halfwit thought would win too. "I don't really know," replied Halfwit. "Maybe Marcus, or Charlie. But I think Charlie needs to come out of his shell a bit more."

"Were you shocked that Kris left?" asked Craig.

"No, he was my prediction for the evening," said Halfwit.

But there was no more time for small talk – Big Brother summoned Craig to the start line. "I hope you don't try too hard," laughed Halfwit.

"I'll take me time," replied Craig, "you need to eat."

Craig put in a respectable performance, before Halfwit dashed around the course, losing his shoes in the process.

"You're out of breath!" remarked Craig as Halfwit crossed the finish line in a similarly respectable time

"It's the adrenalin man!" said a panting Halfwit.

VIDEO OF CHALLENGE HERE - looks like the Craig won comfortably.

Next up according to BB's Twitter:
"Birmingham meets Birmingham as Lisa and BB2's Dean begin the sugar cube stack challenge."

Didn't Dean actually get the record in that? Hope he wins again then since it's against Lisa :D

Video - Dean V Lisa

And story - A Dean Machine

Quote:
With the excitement of Halfwit's assault course challenge against Craig Phillips barely settling, Big brother was bellowing into the House again – this time summoning Lisa…

"Would Lisa make her way to the Sitting Room," commanded Big Brother, adding "housemates must remain in the Living Room."

And as Lisa entered the Sitting Room, Big Brother made another announcement: "Would Dean enter the Sitting Room." And into the room walked Dean O'Loughlin – sugar tower record breaker from BB2.

"You're Lisa yeah? How you doing?" said Dean as he shook Lisa's hand.

And it wasn't too long before they realised they were from the same part of the world. "If we talk in heavy Brummie accents, no-one will understand a word we're saying," laughed Dean.

"How are you finding it – is it mad in here?" Dean asked Lisa.

Lisa revealed that she was proud to get where she was. "I got through all the auditions and I was picked," she replied. "So to be in here for almost six weeks is an achievement in itself."

But as they settled into a nice cosy chat, Big brother reminded them that a Task was at hand – to compete against each other in a sugar cube tower building contest, and if Lisa won then it would all count towards getting a Luxury Shopping Budget.

But Lisa's mood seemed a little lacklustre. "At the end of the day if we can't have food, we can't have food," she sighed.

You're not going to win with that attitude, soldier!

And as the hour long time limit closed in, Dean's tower was significantly higher, but it was just her luck that Dean had a little plan up is sleeve.

"**** it, man" he shouted and brought his tower crashing to the ground just as the klaxon sounded the end of the contest.

But will Big Brother allow it?

BBLB said that a 'steward's enquiry' was taking place about it. :flowerpower:

I was sent this Press release this morning to put on the site (sorry it is late!)

Quote:
BB LEGEND CRAIG GOES BACK IN THE HOUSE TODAY.

BB legend Craig Phillips, the original winner of Big Brother in 2000 is today going back into the house to join BB10 housemates.. He enters later this afternoon in a bid by producers to boost ratings as part of the 10th anniversary year of the show. Craig re-enters the house 10 years to the week on which he first entered the show.

Alan Hamilton, Craig’s agent today said; ‘Craig has nothing to prove, he won the first series and is arguably the most famous and successful BB winner of them all, he is taking a copy of his autobiography with him and is hoping to pass this to housemates to inspire them. Producers have promised to offer a significant fee to cancer related charities in memory of Jade Goody for Craig to take part in this years series. Whilst Craig and Jade were never best of friends, they supported many of the same charities as each other, to date Craig has raised over £500,000 for charities across the UK completing many challenges from skydiving to shark diving.‘

‘His first task is to go head to head in an assault course challenge with a current housemate’ Alan said, ‘Craig laughed and recalled fondly about Nasty Nick’s pathetic assault course attempt and lies about being an ex military ace in his new autobiography Building Beyond Big Brother out now. We gather Nick was also approached but didn’t want to show off his superior military skills again which made him lose the last challenge!. Craig’s ready and raring to go, he excelled in the assault course when originally in the house, he’s filmed all over the world via his production company with the British Forces so I’m sure he’s confident he can win and I wish him well.’

‘We are as yet unsure as to exactly when he will leave the house but he has 140 shows of 60 Minute Makeover to film, an autobiography book party to organise and he’s currently building a development of 5 new apartments – so he has no time to stay even if he wanted to!. We hope he will certainly be out in time for his autobiography red carpet press party on 23rd July in Liverpool, it promises to be a star studded affair, there are over 50 celebrity friends and 20 housemates including all the other BB winners due to attend the Sir Thomas Hotel in Liverpool and it’s taken many weeks of planning - so he’d better be back by then!.’

I saw the last five mins of BBLB tonight (don't normally make a habit of watching but was flicking channels, honest) - and they had Craig on with Sophie, Lee and Alex (BB3 weren't they?).

So I am guessing everyone who's taking part in the week's festivities is down in London at the mo.....sounds fun :flowerpower:

Boy am I going to look stupid if Cameron logs on from Orkney this evening..... ::lol::

Remember people used to sarkily use phrases like "You no tired, all that jumping... to conclusions?"
