sounds as if they're leftovers from this year.
anyway,

whatever month you eat 'em in.
What you need really is a trip to Cadbury World in Birmingham, or the Cadbury's discount shop in Clark's Village, Street.

There is a Cadbury Outlet shop at the Lakeside Village (Formally Yorkshire Outlet), just off the M18 junction 3 at Doncaster...
Creme Eggs are still full price there. Despite the shop name, there's not much at a greatly reduced price, which is what those outlet shops are supposed to be. What you can get there are bags of mis-shapes and other factory rejects that wouldn't be in the normal shops, but I think they are priced too high and I'd rather buy not-as-damaged product for about the same price.
I have seen creme eggs in discount shops bagged up at 6 for a pound and even Lidl sold the boxes of 6 for 99p this year, regular line, not discount.
There is no 'sell by' date on the individual eggs, there is on the boxes of course. At one time the foil was printed with the words 'laid for 2003', or whatever year it was, but once they are out of a box, who knows when they were made.
Bourneville must be on with the 2010 batch by now, the selection boxes must be on their way to the shops by now.
And for anyone who was wondering about the effects of a long-gone eat by date on a creme egg, I offer this tale...
