DAY 53
12.08pm
For today's task 5 housemates will each take part in a perception quiz in order to win treats and tokens for a party this evening. Housemates have decided that Lisa, Hira, Bea, Halfwit and Marcus are the most perceptive housemates.
Everyone is gathered around the table in the living area. Lisa is called to the Diary Room and the rest of the Housemates cheer.
Lisa is in the diary room. The rest of the housemates are watching on the TV screen in the living area. BB explains to her that she will be shown 8 picture boards featuring an image of either a frog or a toad. For each photo she identifies correctly she will win sweets for the house - she wins three sweets for each housemate. She tells BB she is happy and cheerfully returns to the house. As she walks back into the living area Marcus tells her the test was "B*llocks." He complains "That was a Natter-Jack Toad! I know because of Adrian Mole."
1.01pm
Housemates taking part in today's task have won sweets, music, an Indian takeaway and alcohol for tonight's party. Marcus is in the diary room. He is the last housemate to take part in today's task.
Marcus is in the diary room. The rest of the housemates are watching him on the TV screen. BB explains they are worried about the housemates' overall lack of understanding about percentages. "Oh dear" replies Marcus, sarcastically. Big Brother asks Marcus to state whether the statements the housemates have made featuring percentages are mathematical sense or mathematical nonsense." "You ******" he snaps at Big Brother. Marcus is told he must get 62.5% correct in order to pass and receive 3 tokens.
1.06pm.
So far Marcus has answered 5 out of 7 questions correctly. Marcus is shown a card containing a statement he previously made about something being "1,000,000,000,000,000%" He says it is nonsense. He is correct and housemates clap and cheer.
"Rock and Roll!" shouts Marcus, who then smashes up the task board. BB tells him that as a consequence one of his tokens will been forfeited. "Don't, you prick." argues Marcus. BB tells him that because he has called BB a "prick" and a "******" the remaining 2 tokens will also be forfeited. He leaves the diary room and returns back to the house. "What a bunch of wankers." He complains.
1.25pm
Bea is confronting Marcus about his behaviour during the task. "One of the first things you said was f*ck off or ******. " She stresses that if someone is given a positive opportunity they shouldn't squander it with negativity. "I'm here to be me" replies Marcus. She tells him he is struggling to take responsibility. Marcus defends himself, saying "I was being me". However, Bea tells him that "You should have a problem with that as the rest of the group suffer." He insists he wasn't being negative; that he was simply taking a stand.
2.35pm
Noirin and Bea are in the bedroom. Bea remains frustrated at Marcus. "He's a pain in the arse!" she snaps. "He needs to be brought down a peg. He acts like a boy."
Marcus has been called to the Diary Room - he is giving Big Brother a hard time for Lisa's Frog/Toad challenge. "It was a Cranwell horn frog" states Big Brother. Marcus insists it was a "Natter-Jack Toad. Did you never watch Adrian Mole or that thing with Terry Nutkins?"
4.36pm
Halfwit is sitting in the bath. Bea is talking to him. He is explaining to her that Marcus has always been a positive influence on the house yet recently his situation has changed. She asks "Did I react insensitively?" "A bit, yeah." responds Halfwit. "I'm not going to talk to a 35 year old man like a toddler" says Bea. Halfwit becomes visibly stressed. He explains that even if she believes she is coming from a good place, she is still making a judgement towards a man who has been kicked down. Bea leaves. "For f*ck sake!" snaps Halfwit. He begins to hit the bath. "Bullsh*t! Such f*cking bullsh*t!"
5.22pm
Bea and Marcus are by the pool. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry. Sorry for getting stressed with you." says Bea. She tells him she understands he is struggling with the Noirin issue. He tells Bea it's not just that which is making him down. "It's the sh*tty weather, the food, Siavash and Noirin - tonnes of stuff heaped on top in the same week."
5.37pm
Marcus and Bea are in the sitting room. "It isn't easy being here" sighs Bea. She tells Marcus she was hurt by Tom's suggestions that her behaviour with Halfwit could be misconstrued. Marcus assures her no one else thought that. "There is real sexual tension in the house." she states. "Do you want a hug?" offers Marcus. He walks over, lies next to her on the sofa and wraps a duvet over them. They embrace. "I really like people like you." he tells her. Bea explains to him that Siavash is gutted and really wants to make up. She also tells him that she believes nothing active has gone on between Noirin and Siavash. "He thinks the world of you. He must really like Noirin otherwise he wouldn't have gambled that."
10.14pm
The housemates are having their party. Some of the housemates are in the bedroom. Siavash is sucking on a helium balloon, and says in a high-pitched voice "Noirin, you looking fine girl!". She starts to laugh and they begin to kiss.
"Poor Hira!" giggles Noirin. "Sh*t! What are you doing in here?" asks Siavash, unaware that Hira was in the bedroom. Hira sits by her bed folding her clothes. Noirin and Siavash stand up and hold hands. "Let's not hold hands as we go out" he advises. They begin to kiss again. He pulls away, saying "Oh my God! The whole house could be watching!" They casually walk back into the living area.
10.54pm
David, Lisa and Marcus are in the living room. "Are you enjoying your time, Marcus?" asks Lisa. He looks miserable. He explains to her that he feels like he has been ditched.
Bea and Siavash are at the bus stop. Siavash asks Bea "What do you think of me and Noirin?", to which she replies "Not great. No."
Bea tells him that she feels no vibe from them and that she can't see them together. She also thinks that Noirin isn't really into him. He tells Bea that if there is only a million to one percent chance that they will be together, he's willing to take it. Bea reveals to Siavash "A couple of nights ago I advised her not to get with Tom. That was the night it all came out to Marcus."
11.44pm
Marcus and David are at the bus stop. David asks Marcus what kind of a person Noirin must be if she can just shut him out. Marcus agrees that it's "f*cking out of order."
Siavash and Bea are in the sitting room. "Noirin is used to being Queen Bee in this house. She doesn't like the attention being off her so a quick decision has been made" states Bea. Siavash spots Noirin walking across the garden. She comes into the room and Bea gets up and leaves.
"Have you talked to Marcus?" asks Noirin. "No" replies Siavash, before going on to ask her "Look. Very random question. How likely is it for us to work out when we leave?" Noirin tells him she is in the house to have fun, that she never has and never will be looking for a relationship. He tells her sardonically "That is very reassuring". She asks him "Is this the right place to be starting something?" to which he replies "You should have said something a long time ago! Are we on different pages?" he asks. "I don't want a Big Brother romance." replies Noirin. She also goes on to admit to him that she fancied Tom.
1.16am
Bea is in the diary room, telling Big Brother that she is certain Noirin doesn't like Siavash and that their relationship is simply a convenient way of Noirin making sure Marcus backs off.
Noirin and Siavash are in the sitting room. Noirin and Siavash are cuddling on the sofa. They discuss how sorry they feel for Marcus. They decide to make a pact and no longer discuss one another in the diary room. "We're just friends with benefits" states Noirin. They get up to go to bed". Noirin walks back into the house. Marcus stares at her.
