LIVERPOOL’S BIG BROTHER WINNER & TV DIY HANDYMAN CRAIG PHILLIPS HAS FIRST AUTOBIOGRAPHY BOOK SIGNING IN LIVERPOOL’S WATERSTONES THIS SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST.
Big Brother winner and TV DIY handyman Craig Phillips will be signing copies of his new autobiography ‘My Story: Building Beyond Big Brother’ at Waterstones city centre Bold Street store this Saturday 15th August from 2pm onwards.
This will be his first signing session and Craig has chosen to sign in Liverpool rather than London or any other city for his first appearance.
Craig say’s
I am a Liverpudlian born and bred here, I was offered to do a London signing first and whilst it would be great to do a London signing of course - I felt it wouldn’t be right or fair to not do my first official book signing outside of Liverpool. The city is amazing and the people are really friendly wherever you go in the city. I owe so much to the people of Liverpool for their support over many years and I have always tried to positively promote the city wherever I go or to whoever I meet – although attitudes on the whole are much better these days sadly some old stereotypes of scousers are still in existence in other parts of the UK. Scousers really are the salt of the earth, I have tried to work with as many charities as possible in the city whenever I’m asked to help others less fortunate than myself and it’s a great feeling to know that my building school in Aintree still has it’s doors very much open, creating jobs for local people and training many hundreds of youngsters in construction skills to help fill the industry skills shortage. My feet are very firmly on the ground and I still work as hard as I ever have on a building stie when I’m not doing tv stuff – at the moment I’m work with a Liverpool team to build back a Victorian house which was bombed during World War 2.
I am really looking forward to seeing people on Saturday and signing books for them and I hope I can continue to use my media profile to positively promote and support the people and city of Liverpool for many years to come.
The signing event on Saturday follows on from Craig’s recent book launch party at the Sir Thomas Hotel where Ricky Tomlinson drove him to the event in a builders van, Big Brother building winners formed a building gang Rachel Rice, Anthony Hutton and Pete Bennett were there to wheel Craig up the red carpet. A host of celebrities, Big Brother housemates and reality stars attended.
Laurel and Hardy lookalikes will be at Waterstones along with a special celebrity guest.
