Pain ReactionAfter playing therapist to Charlie in the Bedroom earlier, Bea tentatively approached Rodrigo in the Bathroom to see how he was. Since she was involved in the drunken merrymaking that woke Rodrigo up last night, she probably wasn't sure of the reaction she would get, but it turns out Charlie's getting all the blame.
"It's nothing with you or Sophie," Rodrigo reassured her. "You didn't disturb me at all. But Charlie was just shouting, shouting, shouting." ( We'll let you watch the video and make your own judgements about that.)
"He was upset and then he went hyperactive," nodded Bea. "I think he was shocked at your reaction."
At this point David, who had been quietly sitting on the floor, bravely waded in. "Rodrigo, you need to stop reacting like that."
"I will not stop reacting!" Rodrigo, er, reacted.
David pressed on. "You need to stop reacting like that to the point where you get angry. Next time, go to the Diary Room before you start exploding," he advised.
Rodrigo was defensive. "But when I'm sleeping and I wake up like this, how can I stop and think calm?" he demanded. "It's normal to react!"
"I saw a side of you last night..." continued David, not backing down. "You threw water at him. If not for your sake, for the sake of other people - we don't want to see you like that. It's not nice."
"So it's nice what he did?" said Rodrigo, raising his voice and turning to Bea for support. "He's just saying about my reaction! He's not saying anything about the reasons for my reaction!"
Suddenly Charlie appeared in the Bathroom and Rodrigo, trying to maintain his dignity despite the fact that he was sitting in the bath in his pants, started having a go. "It's a conversation between us!" he bellowed, telling Charlie to leave.
"There's nothing to talk about," replied Charlie, annoyed. "I'm not a child, I'm a strong person. This is pathetic."
Heading out of the door he got in a parting shot: "You've upset me, you really have. You've hurt me so much."
Hurt feelings all round. But who's to blame?
