X Factor contestant an internet hit

X Factor hunk Ethan Boroian has become an internet sensation since making his debut on the show.

The 19-year-old student bowled over the judges when he appeared on the show on Saturday night with his voice, charisma and looks.

He performed a cover of the Kings of Leon hit Use Somebody. YouTube recorded more than a quarter of a million views of him in just a matter of hours.

Boroian is being championed by US gossip blogger Perez Hilton who featured his performance and declared: "We have a new crush!"

Chicago-born Boroian, who is studying at Royal Holloway University in Surrey, also impressed the X Factor judges.

Cheryl Cole said it was a "good audition", Dannii Minogue called him a "little superstar", Louis Walsh declared, "the girls are going to love you", and Simon Cowell wanted to know if he was living permanently in the UK.
