Blackpool boy Craig Kelly booted out in front of hometown crowd

It was Blackpool boy Craig Kelly's dream to perform in front of his hometown crowd at the Tower Ballroom.
But while he got his wish, it was destined to be his last time on Strictly Come Dancing.

After scoring just 17 points from the judges, the former Coronation Street star needed a huge proportion of the viewer's vote to remain in the competition.
Instead he came in the bottom two, alongside Ricky Groves, and was promptly sent home by the panel.

Time's up for Tuffnell!

Former cricketer Phil Tufnell has become the latest celebrity to get the boot from Strictly Come Dancing, after ending up in his first dance-off.

Tufnell and dance partner Katya Varshilas lost out to Ricky Groves and Erin Boag, after the EastEnder found himself in the dance off for the second week in a row.

And having seen off Craig Kelly last week, the judges once again chose to save Ricky - although it was close.

Craig Revel Horwood, admitting it was a "difficult decision" opted to save Ricky and Erin, while both Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli voted for Phil and Katya - leaving Len Goodman with the casting vote.

EastEnders star Ricky Groves out

EastEnder Ricky Groves and dance partner Erin Boag have become the latest couple to leave BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing.

Olympic athlete Jade Johnson was also forced to withdraw from the series after failing to recover from a ligament injury.

Groves, this week's lowest scoring contestant, had performed the Tango with dance partner Erin Boag.

He told the judges he knew he had made mistakes during the routine.

He said: "You make mistakes, you've got to go, maybe it's my time to go."

"I'm not making excuses, I mucked up out there," he added.

Ali Bastian voted out

The Bill actress Ali Bastian has been voted out of next weekend's final of Strictly Come Dancing.

Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle and BBC sports presenter Chris Hollins will now compete for this year's title.

Injury stricken Bastian, 26, performed despite spraining her foot earlier in the competition.

Bastian and partner Brian Fortuna lost the public vote despite getting the second highest combined mark from the five judges.

I remember Len being furious with the viewers who kept a celeb in becuae they liked the person, he was at pains to explain it is a dancing competition not a popularity contest. But like ITVs This Morning promotion for their resident chef to win their reality show we know see the same thing happen on SCD.
Chris Hollins is more then likely to win next week turning the show into a farce.

Bad enough that Chris is still there instead of better dancers like Ali and Zoe but if he wins the show instead of Ricky then they should just rename the show 'Strictly Come Prancing' and have done with it!
