Richard Cowell was drafted in at the last minute to play Father Christmas at the event in Evesham, Worcestershire.
Hundreds of families gathered to watch him being drawn on a sleigh pulled by reindeer last Sunday.
But instead of waving to the crowd and chatting to children, the 34-year-old sat in complete silence 'looking sullen'.
Richard, plus reindeer, were provided for the event by Animal Enterprises, who have now given a full £250 refund and donated £50 to charity.
