Over The Rainbow

Graham Norton will return as host of the Saturday night show, which is set to air in the Spring on BBC One.

Charlotte Church, John Partridge and Sheila Hancock have been announced as judges on Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest TV talent show Over the Rainbow.

The new line-up, which replaces Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman, will help decide who should play Dorothy in a new stage production of The Wizard of Oz.

Over the Rainbow

BBC1, Friday 26 March 9:00pm - 10:00pm

After two years, Andrew Lloyd Webber is back, with a new search for a West End leading lady, and this time he's looking for the nation's Dorothy to take the starring role in The Wizard of Oz. After months of searching and auditioning, the final 50 girls find themselves having a tough time on Dorothy Farm, where the panel of Charlotte Church, John Partridge and Sheila Hancock pick the final 20 girls that could be your Dorothy. Hosted by Graham Norton.

"Lose all thoughts of Judy Garland... I want to play Dorothy slightly differently. I want to hear something with a bit of edge," is Andrew Lloyd Webber's instructions to the thousands of Dorothy wannabes who queue up to audition for the lead role in his planned West End production of The Wizard of Oz. Not only is he looking for someone who could step into those famous ruby slippers and make them her own, but he is also searching for a canine star to play Toto. And this from the man who brought us Cats! Following the success of his earlier talent show searches Any Dream Will Do, How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria? and I'd Do Anything, Lloyd Webber is reunited with host Graham Norton. The judging panel has a different look, though, now featuring actors Sheila Hancock and John Partridge (EastEnders' Christian) and singer Charlotte Church. But as before it's the viewers who will choose the winner over the coming weeks.

Lloyd Webber, 62, has indicated he wants to move to ITV - and would have gone this year had the BBC not insisted he saw out his contract.
