The first of the audition shows for this year's Britain's Got Talent will air on April 17th.

The judges have seen thousands of hopefuls over the last few months and already there are rumours of the next Susan Boyle and Paul Potts.

It will also be part of another Saturday night viewing war with the BBC. Their flagship entertainment show Over the Rainbow will clash with BGT.

The new ITV slot of 20.00 will fall directly in the middle of the Lloyd Webber talent search, which runs from 19.20 to 20.30.

The battle for fans between The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing resulted in a resounding victory for ITV eith Cowell's show peaking at over 16 million.

His revelation has led to huge speculation about who could take his place.

Top of the hit list is glamour girl Kate Price, 31.

Asked if she could join the show, he teased: “Well those are your words not mine. But Jordan is a friend. It’s too early to say what will happen.

“Whoever takes over has to really know what they are talking about. You have to spot a star, nurture them, mentor them.”
