Singing sensation Susan Boyle is suing two of her brothers for giving an interview expressing concerns for her wellbeing, according to a report.

Two of her brothers, John and Gerry, have spoken out in the press to express concern for their sister, with Gerry even claiming that staff at her management company are "controlling" her and keeping "her family away".

But Boyle is fuming that her brothers are talking to the media and has launched a breach of privacy lawsuit against them over the interviews, according to the Sunday Express newspaper.

Opera legend Dame Kiri Te Kanawa apparently said that she was insulted at being compared to Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle, according to a report.

The 66-year-old diva is said to have "hit the roof" after an interviewer asked her about the Scottish singing sensation.

She told the Radio Times: "Let's get off that subject. I'm doing something classical, not whiz-bang."

Kiri was speaking ahead of the launch of her new talent show to find the next young opera star but she was unhappy when her contest was likened to Simon Cowell's reality TV talent shows.

She continued: "My show has nothing to do with X Factor which I can't bear.

"You insult me by wanting to bring it into this conversation.

"I feel so sorry and sad for those poor contestants."

She added: "My show is everything to do with finding a true singer. It has far more stability."

Susan Boyle admits she was surprised by the amount of attention she first attracted on Britain's Got Talent.

In a magazine interview, the singer said she was just "a wee lady from Blackburn, West Lothian, with a terrible frock, and her hair in a mess".

She also said if a film of her life is ever made, she wouldd love to be portrayed by Elaine C Smith - the actress who plays Rab C Nesbitt's wife.

Susan Boyle takes chart crown again

Singing sensation Susan Boyle has become the first female artist to have a number one album in the United States and UK twice in less than a year simultaneously, her record company said.

Her album The Gift reached number one in the UK on Sunday, and has taken the top spot across the Atlantic.

It comes after her debut album I Dreamed A Dream achieved the same success following its release last year.

The only other acts to have achieved this in the history of music were The Monkees in 1967 and the Beatles in 1969, Sony said.

Susan Boyle said: "I've never felt happier in all my life. This is an amazing result and one I never expected."

The Scot was catapulted from obscurity to global stardom after appearing on last year's Britain's Got Talent contest.

The singer, from West Lothian, became an international star after her performance of I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables stunned the audience and judges on the ITV1 show.

Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell said: "I'm thrilled for Susan, she has once again defied the odds. She is my superwoman."

In 2009 I Dreamed A Dream became the biggest selling album in the world and fastest selling in the history of the charts - with more than 10 million copies sold - and breaking all pre-order sales records on Amazon

The 48-year-old was backed by a choir of children and seemed to be in great spirits, laughing and joking with the audience and waving her festive red scarf in between songs.

Boyle's performance included a bracing version of the Holiday classic Holy Night and a stirring rendition of Perfect Day.

In addition, Susan sang a duet with the winner of Susan’s Search, a worldwide competition that awarded the winner the opportunity to sing a duet on Boyle’s new album.

Susan Boyle pities young burglar

Scottish singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE has forgiven the teenage burglar who stole cash from her home.

The star returned to her house in West Lothian, Scotland in January (10) to find an intruder in the hallway. A 16-year-old youth later admitted a charge of theft for stealing £9 from the house, and was ordered to hand over £100 to Boyle's chosen charity.

But the singer admits she pities the teenage thief - because he must have been "desperate" to turn to crime.

Boyle tells the Daily Record, "It was such a shame to find I'd been burgled but, apart from shaking me up a bit, nothing personal had been taken. It's a shame that people get that desperate in life. It makes you realise how fortunate you are."

The singer, who became a household name after her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, won the award with 95% of the vote.

Celebs send Susan Boyle 50th birthday wishes

SUSAN Boyle celebrated her 50th birthday with messages from some of her famous friends, but no chocolate.
Outside her new home in Blackburn, West Lothian she said she was looking forward to what the next decade will bring.

Clutching flowers and cards from fans, she said: "I've had a fantastic day. It's been a good 40s but I'm looking forward to a fantastic 50s."

The singer, who shot to fame on ITV1's Britain's Got Talent, said that she had received a happy birthday message from talent show judge Piers Morgan.

Simon Cowell also reportedly sent her a message for her special day, saying: "Happy 50th birthday Susan. You are an amazing lady and I hope you have a fantastic day"

Despite celebrating the milestone, Susan said that she had not cheated on her resolution for Lent and no sweets or chocolate had passed her lips.

She added: "I've not had any chocolate cake but just the plain stuff."

And she would not reveal what presents she received saying: "I got lots of things, too many to mention. I got a lot of support from my fans."
