Eurovision Young Musician 2010BBC4, Friday 21 May 7:30pm - 8:30pm Another Eurovision contest, but without the tacky costumes, dodgy voting rivalries or Graham Norton. At the weekend we saw what the best young classical musicians in Britain could do: now it's the turn of young maestros from across Europe, born in or after 1991, to show off their skills. Against the backdrop of the splendid Rathaus in Vienna and in front of a 40,000-strong audience, seven instrumentalists will be seeking to win the biennial trophy - won in 2008 by Greek clarinettist Dionysios Grammenos. Not that we're biased, but British hopes will lie with 14-year-old trombonist Peter Moore, who won the BBC Young Musician award two years ago, and has got through to the final 15 before the semi-final (held on 8/9 May).
