all youve done there is make me more jealous ...

I`m curently swearing at my cheapo win7 PC ... a year ago i wouldnt of touched a steve jobs invention... but now I think I will ..

My boyfriend got me one of the first video iPods a few years back and I hated it, I HATE iTunes more than anything but used winamp instead, I already had a creative mp3 player which produced a much better sound although the apple had the edge on looks. We have got a huge speaker dock in the hall though which is amazing especially at partys.

I bowed to peer pressure and got the iPhone 3G when it came out (I even queued from 6am) but i sold it within 3 days cos I hated it.... I didn't like the texting layout, no mms, no video, rubbish camera etc etc... The concept of it was great though.

Other half then got me an iPod touch, surrounded by much hilarity on my birthday as he had it in his pocket and got down on one knee to present it to me... I've never been so relieved in all my life!!!! My mum apparently was panicking at the thought of "the barbecue is gonna be ruined if she says no"!!!!!!!! I loved that and now I love this!! I got him an iPod touch for his birthday too and he actually got me a diamond ring for Christmas incidentally..... ;)

I'm not an apple convert by any means (hate Steve jobs with a passion) I recently set up a pc with Mac os x for a mate and I really don't like it but I would like to move into an apple shop to live they're cleaner than most hospitals ::lol::

With regards kids having mobiles my nephews both have phones (11 and 9) and the younger one got bored within a few months, the older one though seems to be glued to it, the advantage is that they can be left to do the stuff we did as kids but are so unsafe these days, knowing that they have constant means of communication!

We're going away for a few days next week and I've just discovered the log cabin we're staying in has no mobile signal or wifi.... I'm panicking, have palpitations, sweaty palms and feel sick at the thought..... Now that's a sad sign of the times! Especially as I've considered changing to a different area for this reason only!

*end of super long post*

::lol:: I know a parent who bought their five year old a mobile phone for "emergencies".... when the wee toot would be away from adults in order to need it I really am not sure ${

that my dear Jezi is what's wrong with modern society, geez I'm only 34 and sound like a right-wing old fogey :-( ::lol::

seriously what parent allows a five year, heck any child under the age 15, have a mobile phone. When I left school in 92, mobiles were too expensive for the ordinary school kid, so parents had to rely on old fashion things like setting a curfew (or not allowing their kids to wander around shopping centres aimlessly)

Sadly my generation, who are now becoming parents, have caved into the me generation mantra of "I want it, so I'll have it now". Some things are seen as a right, rather than a privilege, which is sad

...... and rant over :flowerpower:

I completely agree with you. Usually at school if it is a child's birthday will ask their "favourite" presentor whatever before the class sing happy birthday and so often I am amazed by the kind of gifts they receive. I left primary school in the year 2000 but things are so incredible different.

Haha don't be daft!

I thought my Internet went down this morning for about half an hour (while I have my friend on the phone at me saying "CHECK THE PORTALS, RESULTS ARE UP" in a rather loud voice for 8 in the morning).... turns out I had just switched it off at the plug. How clever am I!

the most mental game of tennis took place today

Isner vs Mahut is still to finish, currently tied at 59-59 in the fifth set

absolutely amazing, whoever loses is gonna be gutted. I've been glued to the tv for well over 5 hours, waiting for it to finish.

they come back tomorrow, probably will be an anticlimax
